Anyone Taking Steroids?

I have a friend who has taken mild doses of steroids in the past and he did not notice any "roid rage" which everyone makes such a big deal about... in fact his wife said that when he was on the juice he actually was in a better mood. He said he felt a great sense of "well being" within himself.

As with anything, too much can be dangerous. You can die from drinking too much water too so everything must be taken in caution. The negative side effects can be reduced it steroids are taken in careful dosages, preferably under the eye of a physician who monitors blood levels, etc. Many men take testosterone to bring their test levels back to normal.

As in the case in Medford, Oregon back around the 90's, a jealous steroid user was going after a drummer of a band playing in the bar, the guy came after him and the drummer was putting his equip away in the back of a vehicle and pulled out a tire iron and whack him in the head. The roid guys died from bleeding. He drummer was charge for murder, but was acquitted for self defense, the autospy showed he had roid in his blood and that was the cause of death, not the concussion.

Another case, involve a Sheriff doing roids, and he dies from bleeding, when trying arrest a child pornographer, pending murder charges base on finding roids in his blood. This case will be interesting, because it involve an officer of the law.

I should clarify.

I didn't mean that steroids cannot play a role in a case; technically anything that is can be evidence. What I meant was, there is no specific defense for people defending themselves against steroid users. Why? Because self defense is a state of mind. What counts is what the defender knew at the time of the attack. Additionally, there is no law anywhere that says if an attacker is using steroids that you can use deadly force to stop him.

I'm a Dr. I know people are going to take steroids regardless of what I say so I am a harm-minimalist. I'll never prescribe for someone but I'll monitor them through their course and check their liver function, renal fucntion, make sure they're not going mad on them, warn them of the side effects, prescribe aromatase inhibitors to prevent testicular shrinkage and support them psychologically as their own gonads go into hibernation for a while. Funny thing ane guy said to me was that when he was on primatestin (like testosterone), even the door knobs looked good.

I know the feeling. I take prednisone for medical reasons and that damn stuff makes me horny as hell. I mean when I am on that stuff I have to jack off 3 or four times a day just like I did when I was 17.

I've always believed that anabolic steroids should be legal, just as many other useful but potentially dangerous drugs are. As it stands now, black marketers are getting rich and users cannot be sure what is in the drugs they are using. Far better to have access to non-illicitly obtained drugs under an experienced physician's supervision.
