First off what exactly is the problem with hippies?
[post=333323]Quoted post[/post]
Well, let's see: Their hypocrisy, their crazy plans to save the world by not bathing and not eating meat, their holier-than-thou attitudes. Them.

I give them snaps up. Anyone who looks like that deserves my respect. And I wonder if they members here would mind if they were beautiful bodies with very large penises?

any thoughts? :nopity:

Actually, I give them kudos for being comfortable with their bodies, as imperfect as they may be. That's a lot healthier than a tendency to cringe in mortification of someone actually seeing one's naked body.

I completely concur. No one is perfet, but everyone is beautiful in some way. Our mental image obsessions in this country make me sick.

I respect them for having the courage of their convictions. They may not be aesthetically pleasing, but they had the guts to make a statement. My actual views on hippies, leftists, and the volume of Berkeley protests is another matter.

For all you non-Californians out there, the free speech movement started at UC Berkeley in 1964 with Mario Savio. The reason why we can protest without clothes out here is because it is a California tradition. It is built on the 1st amendment to the U.S. Constitution, something that many of you apparently have never read. More's the pity, and it explains why we run scared of places that are on the cutting edge of saving what few civil liberties we have left. GET A CLUE, FOLKS! The naked body comes in all colors, varieties and sizes, its wonders to behold. We are all God's children, and we shall exit the world as we entered-naked.

God bless the naked protesters of Berkeley! Praise the Lord and pass the picket signs and the sunblock!

Fucking hippies.

What does that mean? It sounds like you're disgusted by more than their public nudity.

You are entitled to hate baby boomers, but we're not going away anytime soon. And yes, all bodies are beautiful, just as all creatures in nature have a beauty , whether you perceive it or not. The fact that you don't is your loss, not mine, nor my generation's.

Long live the free speech and freedom to protest in the nude movements!

I love California!

I agree with your closing sentiment, but there are several things in nature that do not have an innate beauty. Viruses for instance, although they are technically not creatures. I dare you to tell me that a shiveled old man with no cock to speak of, huge balls, and peace signs painted across his body is beautiful. And, by the way, more boomers die all the time.

Hey, what's wrong with the naked? I mean, I'm not 'the best body ever 2005' but hey at least they can stand up for their convictions. We're not physically superior, just aesthetically pleasing. (Well, boobs are always a winner for me).

Um, I saw protest signs there. Nudity is a way of getting attention called to what they were doing. I think they were "putting it all out there" to support what they believe in, which is more than most of us do.

Thank you , Madame Zora, for your insight. She correctly makes the point that the protestors were willing to bare all to express our first amendment right (AND DUTY!) to peacefully protest. I would say to all of you who dont understand this to witness comedian George Carlin's response to the state department's proposal to let Iraq borrow our constitution: "Why not let them borrow it?
We certainly arent using it at the moment".

God bless George Carlin and Madame Zora. They get it. How about the rest of you?
