She's in a difficult spot. Progressives accuse her of being a sellout, but the establishment says she goes against them too much.

She's been saying since she got elected that it's time for new democratic leadership. You get a new job and your first week on the job you say the CEO has got to go? Not a good way to win friends and influence people. She must be clueless how human relationships in organizations work.

Frankly, I happen to admire AOC, for her passion, drive, intelligence, novel ideals, and commitment to diverse issues of social injustice. I think one day she'll be a HUGE force in the Democratic party. But I'd have to agree that for now, she could do with development of a little more FINESSE - a little "grease" goes a long way. It IS called "politics."

I'm never sure what's "too progressive" to be politically smart, but I appreciate having people who at least at times try to push the envelope. Someone needs to do it.

As for AOC, she's young, with lots of time to advance within the party ranks.

The thing is a lot of progressives are angry and calling for extreme action. You have to throw people a bone if you want them to stay in line.

Sometimes they just want progressive action. Because they're . . . you know . . . progressives.

I love AOC, she's still incredibly young and has a bright future. I'm not too concerned about her being passed up here. I mean she's only been in office for less than 2 years and she already has a pretty substantial following of passionate people. Many of those people are young voters. If she can maintain their support she is going to be a force to be reckoned with soon enough.

WTF are you talking about?

A/B

Jimmy Dore had the bright idea to withhold voting for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker to force a vote on M4A. Some people have really gotten attached to this idea. Other people are calling it stupid. AOC rejected the idea and now the force the vote people are calling her a sellout. It has been a whole thing in the Progressive media sphere.

I made a thread about it.

It's a sideshow and AOC knows it.

MC4A is dead on arrival if Democrats don't win those two seats in Georgia, so it's moot. AOC knows this, the far left wing progressives are just as reactionary and extremist as the MAGA lunatics if you ask me. Of course they will turn on her if she doesn't act as irrational as they do.

It doesn't do her any good to make an enemy out of Pelosi right now especially after Democrats lost seats in the House. The party's messaging has been horrific and AOC rightly pointed out that the moderate Dems are way behind the curve when it comes to getting their message out there. Frankly, both sides need each other over these next two years.

That to me means that she's on the right track. The progressives don't understand that Democratic politics isn't a one size fits all situation, and the establishment doesn't realize that they are their own worst enemies and they are out of touch.

AOC will win the long game, mark my words.

I agree, but a lot of people are being sucked in. Even intelligent people like Cornell West.
If you think that Cornell West has any power or influence in the Democratic power, you are very naive.
