Which Country Drinks the Most Wine?

apparently
followed by me
get so slozzeled, bit it doesent have much of an alcohol effect no more
have to enjoy it instead ha

Vatican City residents drink an average of 98 bottles of wine per person
per year, the most of anyone in the world.

It might come as a surprise to many that the place that drinks the most
wine in the world is none other than Vatican City. Vatican City is the
smallest country in the world; in 2012, it had only 450 residents. A study
conducted in the same year revealed that every resident of Vatican City
consumes an average of 74 liters of wine annually. That's about 100 bottles
of wine per person, per year. In comparison, only about half of that amount
is consumed in France, and even less in the United Kingdom.

How Much Do New Zealanders Love the Kiwi Bird?

'smile'
apparently?? a bit of local news i do believe describes it perfectly
yes we do love the bird 100% ha

The logo of the Royal New Zealand Air Force is the kiwi -- a bird that
cannot fly.

The kiwi bird, native to New Zealand, is considered a biological oddity:
the birds cannot fly, have heavy, muscular legs, and their plumage is
thicker and more hairlike than typical feathers. This unique bird is so
closely associated with the country, however, that New Zealanders are often
referred to as “Kiwis.” In fact, New Zealanders love the kiwi bird so
much that it is used as a national symbol, both officially and
unofficially. It appears on the New Zealand dollar coin, which is often
informally called a kiwi, and, rather ironically, this flightless bird
appears on the official logo of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

What Do Army Officers Do for Fun?

apparently .. interesting huh
hint Bill,jointhe military
golf and bbqs WW ha

The U.S. Department of Defense owns over 200 golf courses all around the
world.

As of 2012, the U.S. Department of Defense operates over 200 golf courses
on military bases around the world. Although the majority are located on
bases in the United States, there are also U.S. military golf courses in
Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Of course, these golf courses represent
only a tiny fraction of the land owned by the the U.S. Department of
Defense, which owns close to 30 million acres (121,400 square kilometers)
of land worldwide and has 737 overseas military installations.

bet you never knew this bit of useless piece of information
ie, name calling ..

How Do Balinese Parents Choose Their Children’s Names?

apparently

Everyone in Bali is born with one of four first names, based on birth
order: Wayan, Made, Nyoman, or Ketut.

In the West, parents will often select their children's names based on the
meaning of the name or in remembrance of another family member. In other
parts of the world, it doesn't always work this way. For example, Balinese
parents choose their children's names based on the birth order. There are
essentially four names in Bali based on the order in which a child was
born. The firstborn is Wayan, second is Made, third is Nyoman and the
fourth child is named Ketut.

you dissapeared again Bill, grrr haha

How Do Horses Sleep Standing up?

apparently
but sleeping standing wont prevent horses from ending up on the barbie,in certain countries, i would imagine ..

A horse has a "stay apparatus" in its legs that prevents them from
buckling, allowing the horse to stand effortlessly.

Equids -- specifically horses, donkeys and zebras -- are the only animals
that sleep standing up, an evolutionary talent that allows them to doze and
still be ready to flee from predators at a moment’s notice. Mature
horses, for example, frequently rest standing up, aided by what’s known
as the “stay apparatus” of the forelegs and the “check apparatus”
of the hind legs. This anatomical system lets them snooze without falling
down, with little or no muscular effort.

What Happens When a Bald Eagle Loses a Feather?

apparently

If a bald eagle loses a feather on one wing, it will drop a matching
feather on the other side to maintain balance.

A bald eagle can achieve a flight speed of up to 100 miles per hour (161
km/hr) when diving for prey, maneuvering a pair of wings that can span as
much as eight feet (2.4 m). These majestic birds, adopted as the national
symbol of the United States in 1782, depend on aerodynamic balance -- so
much so that if a bald eagle loses a feather on one wing, it will also shed
the corresponding feather on the other wing.

How Strong Are Tree Roots?

apparently,how about this wonderful gem
beats them damn wars hhuh ....

Certain tribes in India train tree roots to form living bridges that last
for centuries and require little maintenance.

During the monsoon season in northeast India, gentle streams flowing
through the area’s valleys suddenly become torrents, impossible to cross
on foot. For 180 years, the solution has been to use nature to help
construct living bridges. Local tribes have devised a way to thread rubber
tree roots through the hollow canes of the Areca palm, patiently nurturing
them for years until they grow into sturdy bridges.

How Do Crocodiles Eat?
apparently
Crocodiles don't chew their prey; they either swallow it whole or in large
chunks.
Crocodiles are strictly meat eaters. In the wild, they prefer fish, birds,
frogs and crustaceans, but they’re not dainty diners: They grab the prey
and crush it with massive jaws, then swallow the meal whole. They’re
unable to break off small pieces or chew.

Can an Earthquake Affect the Earth's Rotation?
apparently
Powerful earthquakes can make the Earth spin faster, thus shortening the
length of a regular day.
Earthquakes in 2010 and 2011 -- in Chile and in northeast Japan --
shortened the length of an Earth day fractionally by changing the
distribution of the planet’s mass, in much the same way that a figure
skater speeds up a spin by drawing her arms in closer to her body. Both
quakes caused the Earth to rotate more quickly, trimming a total of 3.06
microseconds off our 24-hour day.

s It Harmful to Drink Bottled Water after Its Expiration Date?

apparently
very interesting, a possible parahoia people need to know about ..
The expiration date listed on bottled water is for the bottle, not the
water inside it.

We now pay for water in bottles, having succumbed to the lure of
convenience, claims of unrivaled purity, and the cachet of gulping down
something that came from a fresh mountain spring. So why do those bottles
come with expiration dates? Chalk it up mainly to government regulations
and inventory control. Because water is a consumable product, it is subject
to the routine laws concerning labels that apply to everything on a
store’s shelves. In addition, manufacturers keep track of their products
with a code that identifies the bottling date, bottling plant, and contains
other useful information.

What Effect Does Cold Water Have on Your Heart?

apparently

Immersing your face in cold water can slow your heart rate by as much as 25
percent.
It turns out that the practice of splashing cold water on your face to
refresh yourself actually prompts a physical change. Immediately upon
facial contact with cold water, the human heart rate slows by 10 to 25
percent. The phenomenon is called the diving reflex, and it’s the
body’s physiological response to submersion in cold water.

Why Does Freshly Cut Grass Smell Good?

apparently
fresh cut grass smell will also go well with BBQs,and a successful day at the office YES!!!

COLD water or Champagne shalt suffice ''

The pleasing odor of freshly cut grass is actually caused by chemicals
released from the grass to indicate distress.
Many people associate the smell of freshly cut grass with carefree summer
days. But why does freshly cut grass smell good to us, and where does the
smell come from? Scientists have recently studied the phenomenon and
discovered that the pleasing odor of freshly cut grass is actually the
result of chemicals released by the grass to indicate distress

What's the Best Way to Escape a Charging Bull?

apparently
keep this in mind everyone
altho i doubt many readers are likely to encounter a bull
did when i crossed my neighbours paddock as an lpsg illegal on a slug gun shooting expedition, bloody bull chased me huh

Bulls run faster going uphill than downhill because they have longer hind
legs than front legs.
If you ever plan to attend the famous running of the bulls at the festival
of San Fermín in Pamplona, Spain, you will need to know the best way to
escape a charging bull. Although there are no definitive rules in this
adrenaline-filled practice on the streets of Pamplona, a few tips may be
very helpful in case you come face to face with a raging bull. One tip that
may help is that bulls run faster going uphill than downhill because they
have longer hind legs than front legs. So running downhill to escape a bull
is a better idea than running uphill.

How Are Dragonflies Different from Other Insects?

apparently ..
sounds like me, cant walk 100pc? duh'

Despite having six legs like all insects, dragonflies can't walk.
The distinctive-looking dragonfly, with its eerie eyes and four paper-thin
wings, is usually found flitting around lakes, ponds, and other wetlands,
feeding on bothersome insects such as mosquitoes and flies. Dragonflies
have six legs, but they cannot walk. Instead, the appendages are used for
catching and holding prey, or for perching on plants.

How Reliable Are World Maps?

just in case you think theres truth in everything you know/hear of ..

Sandy Island appeared on maps of the Coral Sea for over a century before it
was discovered that the island doesn't exist.

Beginning in the late 1800s, maps of the area between Australia and the
French territory of New Caledonia showed a place called Sandy Island. In
2012, a group of Australian scientists aboard the research vessel Southern
Surveyor went searching for the mysterious island in the eastern Coral Sea,
but couldn’t find it. So, despite having existed on nautical charts and
maps for over a hundred years, the island had ceased to exist. Researchers
now think that it never existed at all.

How Can You Tell If Someone Is Lying?

apparently
its a politicians primary part of there job,to lir ..

People tend to blink less frequently when they are lying; they blink faster
than normal after the lie.
According to a study carried out at Portsmouth University in 2008, there is
a very easy way to tell if someone is lying -- no need for a polygraph
test. The study indicated that it is possible to ascertain if someone is
lying by observing how frequently they blink. People tend to blink less
frequently when they are in the act of lying, and then blink faster than
normal after completing the lie.
