Persian is an ethinicity, iraninian is a nationality, there are lots of ethnicities in Iran. Not all Iranians are Persians.
Sharok himself declares himself as Persian. The only difference is that he was raised in a Persian household in LA. But he’s still from the diaspora

No one is trying to explain your ethnicity and nationality to you. I know very well Persian are one of a multitude of ethnicities that make up Iran, which includes a diverse ranges of people's who are Arabs, Azeris, Baluch, Pashtuns and etc
I understand the path North American Iranians have taken to distance themselves from the Islamic Republic and have rebranded themselves as "Persian" , but that doesn't rebrand the fact that Persian and Persia are an ethnicity and region in a country called Iran...and when someone is pointing out on a thread about Arabic Bottoms....that two noted performers are not Arab (an umbrella term that encompasses a multitude of ethnicities such as Berber, Amazigh, Gulf, Iranian Arab, African Arab and etc), but are Iranian from Iran.
We are talking Apples to Apples, they are not Arab they are Iranian....one umbrella term, to another umbrella term......that's what we are talking about here and not going into minutiae of the exact DNA to cite precise ethnic extraction.

* Persian is a carpet, a cat and a type of food and one of dozen+ plus ethnic groups hailing from the country modernly known as Islamic Republic of Iran with the Persian ethnic group hailing from the Iranian province of Fars (actually Paras, as there is no P in Arabic and the region/province essentially became renamed to Faras instead of the actual Paras before the Arabs brought Islam to Iran circa late Sasanian Period)....being the largest demographic making up 50-60% of modern day Iranian population of approx 80 Million peoples.

We'll just go around referring to and describing people using their ethnic backgrounds from now on. So it won't be Chinese American anymore....but Han-American or Manchu American and won't be Indian American but Marathi American and won't be Polish American but Tatar American.
