I hate it when people wig out over spiders. Spiders are cool and you shouldn't kill them.

What I don't get is when I'm doin 70 on the expressway and there's this big translucent yellow spider bookin across the inside of my windshield - dude you gotta do this now? Go back behind the dashboard! Shit!

Should probably roll my windows up at night

As a rule I don't bother spiders but I found a black widow spider under a barrel in my garage this summer. I picked up a stick and beat it to death.

I may be polluting the Chesapeake Bay (90 miles away) but now I spray the heck out of the garage once a month with bug spray.

i've been watching that spider build its web and sit in it for about 2 days now. the web was a huge orb about 6 feet wide. the spider itself had a one inch body or so-- pretty big. the coolest thing was watching it pack up and go-- while i was out taking photos of it, the dog disturbed the web and she ingested all the silk very quickly and ascended one of the anchor threads and left, all within minutes. very cool.

My arachnophobia works like "homophobia". >_> I'll freak out for a while, then kill the spider senselessly... like, with 3 different spray chemicals until it dissolves.

no lovey that Chesapeake Bay has been polluted for more years than you have been alive.
Having been born in Hampton myself I feel I know the bay well.

and I really freak out over spiders. so stupid, I know. Snakes don't bother me a bit, but a spider will send me screaming hysterically for RAID.

    1) They are cool.
    2) They freak me out.
    3) I won't kill a spider in my house if it's a web spinner.
    4) If it's just a predator and too big to fit into a jar, it finds my shoe imprint quicky. Those sneaky bastards are NOT going to chow on me in my sleep if I can help it.
Isn't that the most disconcerting thing to notice when you're driving?

    THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE YOU'RE A COLD HEARTLESS BITCH. LOLZ!!!!!!!!!!!1111111

just kidding. i'm actually more shallow when choosing which insects to kill-- if it photographs well, it gets a pardon. otherwise, it'd better run.

I absolutely abhor spiders, and we live near a creek, so we have quite a few of them. UGH. All different kinds, too. I don't know what any of them are, so I just kill them all so I feel safer. Don't need myself or my son dying from a poisonous spider bite!

Don't get me wrong - anything with more than eight legs has instant "death from above" coming to it. And I woulda thought to squish said Black Widow too, but y'know - we all have it hard in life. Why dole out evil when you can just relocate it?

Heh... they're sold out of em too

Spiders are great. Here's a story: I used to be scared of spiders when I was a kid, but one time, at band camp, I was home alone and a female spider had some baby spiders and they were all over the ceiling and there was dozens of them and I was freaking out but I said there's no way I'm letting them go everywhere in the house and I got up on a chair and killed all of them by myself and I was never scared of spiders ever again and it was awesome. The end.

If it's on TV, it's gotta be true.

I'm not really scared of spiders, I just get grossed out by them. Where I live, I get lots of house centipedes and wolf spiders which do sometimes scare me if I see one but can't kill it before it runs away. Whenever that happens, I'm left with a jittery feeling for a while, wondering where it is. I also get a lot of daddy-long-legs in the house, but I always leave them alone, as I've heard that they're beneficial in getting rid of worse insects.
