We're smart enough to dominate the whole fucking world. How dumb is that?

you say that like you had anything to do with it.

You didn't.

YOU don't dominate the whole world... and, BTW, neither does the US, anymore. We frighten them... we piss them off... but we do not dominate.

The EU is doing fine without our help, thank you... and China and India's GNP growth rates make us look decrepit...

Bush has borrowed half a trillion dollars from the chinese to fight this inane war... half a trillion that went straight into the pockets of his corporate supporters.... and he has Stuck YOU with the bill...

He has written pardons for those who will be easy to prosecute... and sealed his own administrations records for 50 years... making his action unexaminable by law...

And YOU get to pay the chinese all that money back, with interest....

So looks to me like you and every other American got stuck holding the bag in one of the largest and clumiest con jobs in history...

Yeah... that's real super smart...

The American who brought this nation to world dominance are aging , retiring and dying...

Thus far the next in line have done little to even keep their parents' legacy going... and they are actively.

When you keep waving your foam finger in the air, with your red white and blue facepaint and yelling how we are number one... in comes across as incredibly stupid to those who remember when America really was a great nation.

I didn't read all of the posts, but I think there is too much apathy in today's culture. The mentality is "if it doesn't directly pertain to my life, I won't care much about it", hence the Pearl Harbor example and lack of geography. I think a mentality shift needs to take place where more people are inclined to pick up a book or watch a documentary, etc., in order to educate themselves about different facets of life. The school systems can only teach you so much, it is up to the individual to take the next step to further their knowledge, but unfortunately, even with all of the resources we have, people aren't doing so.
