Physical features do not necessarily make a person beautiful in the same way that the ability to speak does not necessarily make a person witty or clever...la la la la la

Beautiful people are treated better, whatever beautiful means, but taller men are too (women not as much).

What's more, people that treat beautiful tall people better often do it unwittingly.

The bad thing about it is that physical beauty is such a poor bargain. It fades in spite of all attempts to save it. Unfortunately I have witnessed men who were uncouth to another woman behave like Eddie Haskell towards me. I used to take great delight in bombing them out.

In a way I think we all get treated differently at times than we normally would, be it better or worse (because of attraction, jealousy or pitty), but it seems like it'd be useless to give it too much thought. After all, most of the time there's no way of knowing IF we're really beeing threaten differently because we can't be sure what the other person's motivations are, let alone know WHY they do. You can't blame someone for liking another more than the next.

I love this bit Katt:tongue: I can only say from my own limited experience in treating others and postulate how others treat attractive people. I think people do react differently to how people look whether it be with more reservation, more polite, etc. In general I believe more attractive people would get treated better and it is a bit more formulaic than 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'..well within a culture anyway.

But like Katt says..who gives a shit..who are we to know the motivations of someone else.

I've perceived enough differential treatment in my time to be convinced of it. I believe there are some academic studies which support this contention.

It doesn't mean the beautiful are always given preferential, favorable treatment....just treatment different enough to be noticeable.
