He asked what we thought, and that's what I think. It's not what I recommend; as a policy I'm opposed to bannings simply because somebody (including me) is annoyed.
Banning is (or should be) a last resort used in response to malicious and unwarranted attacks on other members, not as punishment for asking stupid questions or posting unpopular opinions.
If anyone feels that a thread is annoyingly redundant, there are two options:
1) Ignore it.
2) Post a response saying that you find the thread to be annoyingly redundant. Feel free to use really, really colorful language to help emphasize your point.
Fair enough - I agree with that banning philosophy* - but yeah it seems that once one 'please reassure me, I'm threatened by black men" / "please validate my dubious fantasies" thread has passed off page one another rears its ugly head (yes [bad] pun intended).
Maybe the mods could impose a mandatory signature on every new account, just for the 1st week, that'd read something like "Penis size is not correlated with ethnicity" so they'd have to read it everytime they posted for a week.. think that'd get it across?

If I understand Big Dirg correctly, I was agreeing with him. One man's annoying and redundant opinions may be looked on in a positive light by others, so banning someone who's deemed 'annoying' by many isn't really fair. Banning someone who's being mean spirited and malicious is an entirely different story.
Specifically looking at Big Dirg as a poster, some people call for his hanging on a consistent basis, while others publicly applaud his efforts, intelligence, and originality. If we let the handful of people that can't swim in the deep end of the pool with him have their way, then the rest of us who enjoy his posts get fucked.

Re Stronzo; if asked, I would not have voted for his banning, at least on the basis of his public posts. (If, as rumored, he was harassing members via PM, that might be a different matter.) This is not to say that I don't think his banning has been a force for good; it probably has. It's that I'm not in the business of making those judgements, and don't want to be.
On the other hand ... at some point, filtering out repetitive rubbish posts becomes routine housekeeping, like deleting spam for cheap loans, counterfeit watches, pirated software, and black-market Viagra.

I also don't think the reason we can't have a sticky for this question and say that race has nothing to do with size is because we don't know that for sure. I think you mistake real weariness with the topic for jealousy or anger. One can point out that the research doesn't bear out the idea of racial averages at all, as I always do here, but it is relentless. No amount of factual evidence seems to be able to stop this nonsense. (Since members here have nothing to be ashamed of in the size department, jealousy or racism seem unlikely causes of the response. Much more likely is that the topic arises so often, and could be answered so easily by a simple search.) And one more thing, as has often been pointed out, the insistent belief that black men have bigger penises (to the degree that is comparing them to animals again) is racist in itself. Denying that penis size is related to race is the opposite of racism.
