Just wanted to hear what people think of these drugs. Some of my friends take them just to get Super hard and last extra long. I wanted to know tho if its unhealthy to take them and if girls look down upon guys if they take them

there are sites on the internet as well as journals and clinical reports that state you should not take if have "heart or kiney problems" or, "people with high blood pressure run the risk of heart attack" maybe it's just me but that sounds bad to me. Why mess with a good thing. Besides, if your friends do it, ask them do they want to keep doing it or if they want to stop. If they are hesitant about stopping than that since of addiction and co dependence on the stuff is your clue not to mess with it.

We have many many threads on this already, with lots of good information and bad. Please search the threads and find some of them.

if a guy had ed, i wouldn't see it differently from any other med.

if it's just some guy wanting to impress, i'm unimpressed. meds aren't for playing with.

and, to me, a good lover isn't preoccupied with trying to prove he's a bedroom athlete. he's too busy connecting with me, finding out what i respond to, showing me how he likes to be touched.

to me it's on a par with fake boobs.
some people love them, some don't mind them, i really dislike the idea of them.

most dont take it all the time..only if they really wanna impress a girl...i mean it does sound like fun

Sounds fun in theory, but what are you going to do if she wants to see you again and you don't have any pills? Let her know the "real" you, or let her think she doesn't turn you on as much as the first time?

I say just be yourself -- no false advertising!

Using ED drugs to enhance sexual performance in someone who's perfectly health is deceptive -- it would be a bit like me putting falsies in my bra and attracting a guy, then bringing him home only to have him find out he wasn't getting the big tits he thought I had.

Agreed. They should be used only by people who really need them.

Prescription anti-ED drugs wil not in small doses be detrimental. However in large ones can be harmful. There was a case some 7-8 yrs ago about a sergeant in I forget what branch of the military over did it with viagra and wound up with an erection that wasn't planning on subsiding anytime soon. He ended up haivng surgery and did more damage than good.

Very true. They serve a purpose for those who need them and use them as prescribed. I'll comment further after I combine your thoughts with Holly's...

In healthy men, the ED drugs do little or nothing. Another concern is that when used as directed, they are helpful and moderately safe, even though they do have side-effects. The real problem is that men who use them ignorantly or recreationally are not likely to use them as directed, nor to heed the precautions.

Disregarding the prescribing information and precautions CAN KILL YOU. These were not developed as penis drugs, they were developed as blood pressure regulating drugs. The side-effect became the primary prescribing indication. Since high blood pressure often causes erectile dysfunction, a number of men in the clinical trials had ED... and noticed some erectile enhancement during those clinical trials. It turns out that the drugs were NOT satisfactory for regular use to lower blood pressure (because of some of the other side effects like headache and loss of vision), but WERE satisfactory for occasional use to counteract ED. They absolutely do not make good recreational drugs, regardless of some of the anecdotal evidence you hear (on LPSG and from your friends.) It isn't worth it to play with them, it isn't worth it to get them without a prescription from your regular doctor.

A friend of mine was recently telling me about a frightening incident he had. His relatively new boyfriend was spending the night at my friend's house. The boyfriend took Viagra (he didn't even really need it, I was told) and then at one point during sex, he used poppers. That's huge no-no. His blood pressure plummeted, then his heart stopped. Fortunately, the EMTs arrived and got him going again, and he spent a few hours in the emergency room and the rest of the night in the hospital.

If you don't REALLY need, it, don't do it. It's just not worth the risks.

So... are you referring to poppers in the emphasized text above, or to ED drugs?

Fair enough. Mixing drugs is usually not a good idea. At first glance, it looked as if you were saying that ED drugs were the problem, as opposed to poppers.
Well, actually, I was. I was trying to illustrate my point that even when used properly, ED drugs are NOT as casual as taking a vitamin, and that people who take them as recreational drugs are very unlikely to use them as they were intended. The warnings that come with ED drugs ALL have very prominent warnings. Included among those warnings is "Do not take this drug in combination with nitrates or nitrites used for cardiovascular disorders." Poppers fall into that category. Ignoring the warnings can kill.

just because a guy is bragging about how impressed a girl was, doesn't mean she actually was.
