Some of us fit the mold laid on us by our upbringing; some of us have dared to do a bit of our own molding.

Right on. Recently I call myself a straight guy who doesn't want to be told who to love. I have avoided sex with anybody because of my concerns about my sexuality, and some body issues, but I realize I want to have sex with women. Ultimately, I want to be able to say ..hey that guy is hot, not feel awkward about it and then go have a passionate sex with a hot woman.

Fuck society for causing pain in people by trying to keep us all in these stupid boxes.

So are you born straight or is it a matter of choice. I just remember a lot of straight friends in grammar school thinking girls had cooties. Yet, a year later they seemed to be attracted to them. Was there a latent straight gene in their dna or did they just choose to like girls? After all, there is no straight gene ever found. I think it is from conditioning. They are recruited by other straight people to be straight. And churches seem to be the most blatant about the whole recruiting process. They convince little boys that they are evil if they are not straight. So what do you expect. They just make the choice to be straight. What do you think?

Of course you're right. I don't know why I didn't think of this theory myself. I think it happens earlier though. I think the boy babies who are breast fed the longest become straight. They also become boob men. :biggrin1: :lmao:

There is no simple answer to this tiresome question!

Who cares?

Why do you care?

What you gonna do about it?

WE'RE HERE - WE'RE QUEER - GET OVER IT!

Now look , youve got me shouting cliches..

Sing it!

This was a very interesting topic and I hope I don't offend anyone by stating my argument. I have nothing against gay people...but I don't like the act of gay sex. I'm one of those people who feels that it's like smoking. A bad habit, but it doesn't make you evil.

Before you start bashing me though, take this into consideration. There are people who claim to only be attracted to animals or children. They swear they can't control themselves or they were"born that way". They call these people sick and encourage them away from it, yet gays are not only encouraged now, but they treat sexual preference as a civil right. What's next...I'm a bondage slave and proud...I screw food, so give me my own movie! I know there's a never ending flipside to this thing, but I'm tired of being called antisemitic for insisting that sexual preference shouldn't be who you are...just what you do.

If you choose to disagree with me, please do. But give me that same freedom and stop calling people against gays, "prejudice" and "homophobic".

Well that would make you one of these guys that was born gay but conditioned to believe that gay sex is dirty and disgusting like smoking. Do you remember anyone ever telling you that? These straight recruiters are very cleaver.

This is a common illogic argument used on gay boys so they grow up straight like you. As long as you continue to believe this illogical reasoning that dogs and children are the same as consulting adults, then you are probably going to continue to be straight. So hang on to those fear of bondage and you should be safe. But if you start to get the urge to screw an apple pie, give us a call.

My question is, what is bad about being gay, in and of itself? The only place I've ever seen negativity about it is in religion. Likening it to smoking is invalid. Likening it to pedophilia or zoophilia is also invalid for one basic point. Sex between two individuals able to give consent is not wrong. Children and animals are not legally able to give consent, thus an adult partaking in sex with either a child or an animal is doing so without the consent of the other party. Thus the act cannot be given validity.

Sex is emotional, not logical.

Logic is survival. Emotion is the spice that makes life worth living. Once the basic needs of survival are met, then we start to add flavoring.

Emotions drive us to other decisions: procreation, companionship, sexual orientation, fun, etc…

Logic might dictate that producing children is too costly and a lot of responsibility. Logic might dictate that there are plenty of people on the planet so slooowww down. Yet plenty of people have children because they want to.

Take condoms as another example: Most people I know hate the damn things but use them anyway because it is a compromise between pleasure and possible-undesired-effects such as disease or unwanted children.

People have many needs and urges and they have choices to make. What is evil about saying that? I would think that most members on this site would welcome the affirmation: "You have a choice!"

If I choose to follow homosexual desires, I would find it offensive for people to say I don’t have enough self-control/mind-power to direct my own life – just a bad gene that makes my decisions for me. Yet there is this search for the homosexual gene to somehow justify it.

Equally, because I got married and live a monogamous relationship – so what: I made a choice. I can still change my mind if I want. Freedom, freedom, freedom.

The thought that urges need to be controlled is not offensive. If you get mad and punch someone in the face, you can be arrested for assault. If you steal, you might go to jail. Etc… Social conformity is part of being a gregarious species. Is society always right? No, history shows otherwise.

As for prejudice, it exists in all communities including among gays. I have heard lesbians deride homosexual men about anal-sex and all that shit-stuff. Or boast that theoretically they could produce children without the aid of men but a man could never do it without a woman. A lot of gay men say they are straight-8 acting and can’t stand all that fem stuff. Some complain about bottoms that are well endowed and should be tops too, but what about respecting their decision?

As for the thread, Are Guys Born Straight? Yes we are but we aren’t mindlessly bound by it. Everyone has a choice.

I know I was born straight. I've always liked girls ever since I was like 6 years old and on. I used to go to daycare and I always wanted to play with the girls and be close to them lol. Although, I never wanted to admit the fact that I liked girls to my parents for a long time. I don't know why, its like they did something to make me ashamed of liking girls so if my dad saw a cute girl or something I would pretend I didnt see even though I probably saw her first! lol.

You could not have been born straight. Scientists have never found a straight gene, so you must have choosen to be straight.

I have often wondered this, and my beliefs can go either way. On one hand I believe that we are wired to be straight, BUT, I also think we are bred to be straight. I know we are, it goes back to Adam and Eve, man and woman together. My question is, what if we were bred to be gay? What would society be like then?

If we were born to be gay, then that's it, life wouldn't have progressed further if creation started with two men instead of man and woman. That is if men weren't made to reproduce.

What do some people make this argument? The world isn't black and white. I can't imagine having such an inability to understand that.

lol u guys are nuts. anyway i'm just sayin the only thing supported by nature is heterosexuality. people are saying gay is natural too cuz we can suck and fuck well if i were to grab a cucumber and stick it up my ass would that mean i'm designed to be fucked by cucumbers??

All facets of every radical, not just well-established behavioral paradigms [ie, depopulation via 'homosexual' mating in insects to sustain continuance of the species], are supported by nature.

First of all, the argument that we were "designed"--as by a divine or omniscient Creator--is devoid of any substance in this argument. I can provide the reasoning why if that offends any Christians.

Furthermore, yes, you could argue your body has formed by the processes of niche-development and natural selection to accodomate any variety of vegetables.

People are animals whose instinctual, mindless drives have been obscured and either amplified or nullified by higher understanding, language, imbedded images, archetypes, social indoctrination, and relatively refined cognition. This psychology assures us that all humans, regardless of gender, socioeconomic stature within the community, ethnicity, background, etc., are purely bisexual by default and then through upbringing the conditioning of the individual's preference is determined and will is then applied to adhere to whatever status quo is coherent to the enviroment's framework or overarching paradigm. There are also purely biological factors and potentially a great deal of heredity involved in determinance of the whichever preference.

The causalities are generally beyond our understanding, but always recall that all things can be described as infinite in complexity, and more importantly, that the bulk of meat is hidden beneath curtains of more obvious sinews.

People are just born. And they're only ever just people. With minds that change and become intimately rearranged, every single day.

Yes, I was born straight. After jerking off each other and comparing the dick size with my friends, I have become a bi-sexual. :biggrin1:

Interesting, I was way more into the male gender even as a kid before I had any attraction to women at all, and even today I still have a very strong sexual and romantic attraction to men/the male gender.

Being a gay man, I have a hard time deciding if homosexuality is a product of nature or nurture. I can say with 100 per cent certainty that it isn't a choice. I know I have siblings that were reared in the same environment and both turned out to be heterosexual. I sometimes wonder if homosexuality is mother nature's way of controlling the population.

excuse me but I admit Im not reading all 339 previous posts. There are only so many points of view and IM sure there are many repeats.
Seems from what Ive read that science doesnt know for certain. But any gay man will tell you it is not a choice. NO debate about that: it is immutable like eye color. And that most of us have a strong hunch that yes, you are born with a BASIC sexual orientation. (doesnt mean you cant try whatever you like....)

Not to be a male basher but to be honest some guys are born not only straight but somewhat clueless as well. I don't know if it's genetic or learned behavior. I've met straight guys who are so straight and dull that all they're capable of is memorizing box scores and women's bust sizes. Maybe they just have too much testosterone.
