Wow......an interesting thought. Unless you perpetrate an extremely heinous and violent crime and slay dozens of innocent people, then whatever you're doing must not be a problem. "Hey officer, I only raped her, it's not like I fuckin' killed the girl and her family....... So can I go home now?."
Being impolite, arrogant, uncaring, and full of bile are all serious problems, just not of the magnitude of a mass slaying. It's easy to look good when you hold yourself up against the lowest common denominator.

A curious conceit. Several posters in this thread rarely do anything else - any opinions which don't conform to theirs must, ipso facto, be from idiots. Not just mistaken, ill-informed, or debatable, but automatically asinine. After a while here, these consistent patterns are quite striking, not to mention bloody goddamn obvious.
The most closed-minded people I've ever encountered invariably believed themselves to be intelligent, logical, insightful, enlightened, and debonair. Had I ever been so unfortunate as to be a psychology major, I might speculate that closed-mindedness is actually a way for a very average person to protect the illusion that he is, indeed, unusually intelligent, logical, insightful, enlightened, and debonair.
I'm not claiming that this is uniquely a phenomenon of LPSG; it infests daily life. But LPSG is hardly a bastion of intellectual enlightenment, now is it?

He is stranded, floating out in the middle of the bay. After about two hours he sees another row boat coming with a man and two women in it.
