At school I had three close mates who were circumcised, out of about eighty of us. They were the only ones in our year, AFAIK (we showered naked after PE/games). They were all cut as babies. I had another, younger, mate who was cut aged 5.
These days I have three or four mates whom I know are cut and have had conversations with them about it. All bar one cut as babies. Additionally, there are seven or eight guys that I work with, whom I'm sure will be cut, as they come from Jewish or Muslim backgrounds, although born in the UK.
There was an article in one of the national papers a couple of weeks ago, discussing whether routine circumcision should be restored in the UK and referring to US, Australian and African attitudes. It was written by a medical professional, rather than a journalist, and mentioned that UK circumcision rates currently stand at 17% - which is somewhat higher than I always believed it to be. I suspect that that figure probably includes ethnic/religious circumcisions in addition to RICs.
