So another aspect is safety. Perhaps it is just not safe in our society for women to take a protracted look.

What if it were? What if a look from a female didnt mean "she wants me" in every guy's mind? Do you think you would stare instead of being covert?

No, I still wouldn't stare. I just don't think it's polite. When someone stares at me, I start to feel very vulnerable and I don't want someone else to feel that way.

Sometimes a look is just a look. For me maybe it will fuel a fantasy when I'm alone. Other times, seeing a nice looking guy just gives me a little lift in my day. It's recognizing the beauty in the world.

Is it safer to look at other women?

When you look -- why? What are you looking or for? A pretty face? To chexk out their outfit? A possible life mate? A possible fling?

Yes. I think women are trained to look at and scrutinize other women. That said, when I look at another woman, I'm usually comparing myself to them. Sometimes, I am curious about what another woman is wearing and other times, I may like her figure and wish I had the same.

I have a syndrome which causes me to have more testosterone than I need, which is probably why I'm so horny. I wonder if it's the same reason that I have those brief jags of porn addiction.

If you don't mind, may I ask what syndrome? PM me if you want to keep it private.

By the way, if a guy's sporting a VDL, it's proof positive women are just as visual as men.

I've actually been busted by TheBoyfriend looking. I am bad.

I more vividly remember getting busted than I remember what guys I was looking at. Guilt is stronger than lust in me, I guess. I asked him just now, "What kind of guys have you caught me looking at?"

"Joggers." "Pretty boys." "Young guys with floppy hair."

He's so right. I watch buff joggers and bikers. The bf knows I watched him when he used to jog past my favorite coffeeshop every day, so he looks at my face when there's a hot jogger to see if I looked, and he's caught me a few times.

I also look at guys with handsome or pretty faces. I look at a lot of guys I could never imagine myself in a relationship with but who are attractive to me. I don't know what that is about. Curiosity, I guess.

Women are lucky that they have better peripheral vision than men, probably form centuries of looking out for kids, whilst men were focussed on a specific target.

Therefore a woman need not turn her head.

Men do.

Woman sees man turn his head, & thinks he must be very very interested.

Woman hits man on head.

I'm very visual. I'm not a stereotypical woman, but I never understood when I heard that men were more visual. Women are too!

My first wife I would say was not at all stimulated sexually by visual things, except for the time we were going at it on the floor and there happened to be a mirror leaning up against a wall and she looked over and got a view of us going at it. THAT really turned her on.

Another wife definitely was visual. And she was very sexual too. Much more than anyone else I was around or with.

Dr. Pepper brought up mirrors during sex. My favorite sexual positions use a full length mirror. It definitely turns me on.

I wrote about that in the "Woman on Top" thread.

From my experiences, i have discovered that women (in general) are more visual than most men realise. As others have said there are differences, the social conditioning being a main one. I also think there is more for men to visually appreciate on a woman (face, boobs, bum, legs etc) and the way women dress is more revealing therefore guys will generally notice these things more.

I am lucky enough (sorry if this sounds a bit arrogant) to have always been in very good physical condition. Because of this i have often come into situations where i've noticed women's appreciation or have through one way or another been informed of their visual "wants". This becomes most apparent when i've been to a nude beach, where it became quite clear that there are many women who enjoy the sight of a well hung fit guy. I'm not deluding myself that these women are desperate to jump my bones, that's fantasy stuff, but i am certainly aware of the extra attention i get.

I'm extremely visual and though I'm on this site and a few others. Your chances of catching me looking at someone in real life is slim to none. Because like another poster I feel rather vunerable when someone stares at me so I tend not to stare because I dont want to bring attention to myelf. But believe me I notice. Hmmm in an everyday situation I notice women for the most part because so many of us wear so few clothes it's hard not to notice. But men I look closer. Their hands, the shape of their lips when they smile, if their hair falls in their eyes and then I always look to see who's with them. Porn... yes I like porn. But it depends on the porn. I like guy on guy porn if it's two regular guys kissing and touching each other not the girlie guys or the steriod guys... just average joe. Especially when their face to face and their cocks rub together and the expressions on their faces. I like it men can be very sensual together. Girl on girl porn meh sometimes it's ok but most of it's just to fake. When it comes to straight porn... I prefer amatuer. I can't stand the fake screaming orgasms. Amatuer stuff is more life-like. Look at the girls, the make up, the hair and the first 5-10 minutes of most of it is cock sucking. Not that that turns me off. It's good if it's real. But the gagging and spiting that most of it has turned too does nothing for me. I think I'm more of a sensual person. I like to see people licking and touching each other. And the looks on their faces really make a good scene for me. But all of that being said I also read romance and erotica and I paint, so my imagination runs wild. *secretly*

I am also very visual and agree most woman are not comfortable in real life openly looking at others they may be attracted to. I learned at an early age to not do this, and I rarely ever do. Sometime's though, I do admit to spontenaous (sp) looking. It usually happens at the gym when my eye catchs something (thighs usually and not any particular body type) out of the corner of my vision. I don't STARE, but do look for a second or five. Now, if I could just order LPSG to go, I would be totally in heaven and would not be shy at all about looking and looking and looking a bit more. But I do think men are more visual overall. I remember my brother had porn magazines when he was 13 or so and my husband had a collection when we first met. I have never even thought of buying one. I've heard and read that the average male thinks of sex constantly, even inital eye contact has them thinking "yes" or "no"! Busy bodies!!! :) :)

it's a real shame that many women do not seem to find it acceptable to "look" at men. It does not offend or make me feel uncomfortable at all. In fact it's a very nice compliment to notice a woman looking at me when i walk along a nude beach. Of course some women are very obvious about what they're looking at but as long as people are polite and well mannered it's fine.

I think europe has a much more relaxed attitude to nudity. In europe you'll see a lot of women on the nude beaches, it's normal, some also on their own. it's not supposed to e a place to check-out nude people but it's difficult not to notice some people, you'll see some people showing off a little (or a lot in some cases). i do get the impression that a lot of people are staring behind the sunglasses, but hey it's not hurting anyone.

i have to admit i have been drawn into showing off a little sometimes, but if you see some women "looking" at you, it sometimes feels pretty good to walk past them with your cock swinging about while they stare at it. :)
