Funny how as soon as terrorism hit the US they started to give a rats, when we in the UK were living with terrorism for years, with innocent people being regularly killed & our lives disrupted with countless bomb threats...

Ummmm... the US has had to deal with terrorist threats since its inception. Documented instances can be found on WikiPedia going back as far as the 1800s. The only major difference from then to now is that we have technology that allows information (good or bad) to go global in a matter of moments. So let's not act as if the US just became "aware" of terrorism on 9/11/2001.
