****Down 10 lbs in 1 week I'm proud to say. ****

What did you do differently?

I doubt i will continue on the trend of 10lbs in one week, but i will say that there has been drastic changes in my diet since my surgery 8 days ago for gallbladder removal.

I havent been able to eat much per meal, probably a quarter to a half of the amount. I feel like i had gastric bi-pass or something and my stomach has shrank. But because i cant eat much, i am hungry again in an hour or two for a little snack. I am eating the ideal 4 to 6 times a day in small meals rather than one or two monstrous meal portions.

I had over a 100 (more like 200+) stones inside of my gallbladder which wasnt working to squirt bile in the stomach to digest fats. I had a huge bulbous stomach and this type of surgery has obviously helped with the problems that was causing it.

Less food, more frequent meals, and no sickly gallbladder.

Ellie, as long as we do the "right" things, our body eventually will find it's own natural equilibrium. Try not to let the comments bother you, since you KNOW it is a journey. No matter what we do, there will always be comments, so we have to be happy with ourselves in the long run.

Thanks, Sweetie. Now how to I gain the strength to resist the urge to shoot my husband who says he needs to lose 5 lbs - and does it - that afternoon - by just talking about it. I'm on the journey. He hops on the path every now and then.

Diet is a big part of reaching your "ideal" weight, but it's only a start. Actual "dieting" doesn't work because all you do is try to trick your body, but the human body is smarter than that. I agree with others, the mirror is your best scale - I'm actually on the borderline of normal/overweight on the BMI scale - as long you feel good about yourself. A planned exercise regime with a fixture of cardio AND weights (even you, ladies) together with a sensible eating habit will work wonders. And give yourself a cheat afternoon where you can eat some treats without feeling bad.

Weirdly enough when i went to the gym and 'dieted' i didnt lose much weight.Fast forward to me moving from Yorkshire to Wiltshire and stressing about missing my twin sister i lost 10stone 2lbs and didnt go to the gym once.Admittedly it took me a while but all the same...i didnt diet though,i just ate more healthily...the 'D' word is not good for me,too much pressure on myself.

Cheat day was and still is a Sunday for me....i have Brie and biscuits for being really careful all week:smile:

According to the BMI calc I am sitting at 15.8% body fat with my 5' 10'' 180lb build... yet I run a 10 minute mile and a half and can hit a 7 minute mile if I push. So me thinks these are a good guideline but you should know where you stand better than the internets.

Those weight charts suck.

ANyways....Two things.

1) I was a 25.0 and I am not on the verge of being overweight.

2) MR - I have seen your pics. You are a gorgeous work of art beautiful woman! Hardly anything even near overweight.

Those old photos are when i was in the normal BMI weight range....probably a bit on the far heavy end of it. But i've put on weight since then. I'm aiming to get back down to that size hopefully

Don't put too much faith in those weight charts MR. I am 6'3" and 222lbs and considered "over-weight" I had a doctor tear up a chart once to prove that point.
