My answer is "yes".

Good thread Earl. If you don't mind too much I'd like to tinker with your question a bit.

Simply put, If {The Nation That You Call Home} was being threatened and/or attacked, would you be willing to die to help save it and its way of life?

That may not garner any different answers, but (to me) it squares the patriotism/call to duty notions in the proper context that most would think of them in if this were 50 years ago.
