I work on a university campus and since last fall I have started seeing students wearing shorts above the knee. At first it was really only very occasional. However, in the last couple of months I have been seeing at least one student-aged guy most days with shorts several inches above the knee. Almost invariably they are good looking fit guys. Is this change only happening in my little corner of the world or is it more widespread? I hope so.

As Spring/Summer has finally arrives here in London, I have been seeing this trend too- no complaints from me!

It's all part of the 80's trend. Straight leg jeans, skinny jeans, shorter shorts, brighter colors, briefs...

We've finally gotten over that 70's bell/boot-cut hump. And thank God. Shit was getting old. And we're finally getting over the capri-like shorts of the late 90's/early 00's.

I kinda like them, they have 5" inseams (chubseam), and they seem to fit like tennis shorts did back in the early 80s. I like the colors too. If I were ten years younger I'd get a pair.

I've always worn shorter shorts than most guys. I usually would have to buy "regular" shorts and have them tailored to about a 5.5 in inseam. I just ordered my first pair of chubbies a few days ago and I can wait for them to come in! Sky's out, Thigh's out!

I don't know whether Chubster describes the shorts brand itself or the pudgy frat boys sporting them in many of their picture submissions.
Just sayin'.

NOTE: Oh ok, I get it. Here's the size guide. On my most beer-drinking and bloated day, I have a 30" waist. You only get a real selection in the Large size and above.

I was at a local college working on the AV in the student commons. I saw a guy there that was rather skinny, but had HUGE thighs and quads, I mean beautiful cut muscles in his legs. He was wearing 5 inch inseam shorts or so while sitting down, so most of his thighs were exposed. He obviously was doing this to show of his nice thigh muscles!

I' glad to see this trend in shorter shorts coming back. I hate those long and baggy shorts. Even worse were those God awful baggy jeans guys were wearing. The designer who came up with that idea should be publicly flogged and hung. I'll even supply the rope. And exwyhzee what does age have to do with it? If you like them, wear them.

The trend has been happening for about 2 years now, but I don't see shorts as high above the knee as chubbies being worn. The shorts are usually right above the knee or show a little thigh. Stores like GAP, Nordstrom, etc. sell them.

My word, shorts above the knee! Next it will be women showing their ankles, men without top, and women with bare mid-riffs!
