No, growing up my role models were Mahalia Jackson, Mary McLeod Bethune, and my mom. I read and listened to everything I could about the first two and followed the 3rd around like a puppy. None of these women have ever disappointed me by: fighting in public, becoming drunk and disorderly, or going outside without wearing the proper foundation garments.

Not really, I had my mom, grandmothers, and aunts, and while nutty and a bit docile towards their men (except my mom), they are each very accomplished women.
