It is called "colorism". The way it was explained to me was that it's an unwritten rule that the lighter you are the better and that there were some educational institutions, such as a very well known one for women in Greensboro, NC, which used the paper bag test as one of the qualifications for entrance way back in the day.

It is true. It happens in some African-American families. Not in mine. The hate isn't color based. I have a colorful and multiracial family.

1. In general do black women think white men have smaller penises than other ethnicities? ( what's the word?)

Some do.

2. Why do some black women treat white male partners better than black male partners?

Because they can. And we allow them to believe that they are better when we are fucking their white significant others behind their back.

3. Do you think black women date white men because they are WHITE?

Because they can.

4. ^ why do black women give black guys "the look" when we're holding hands walking by in the city? ( P.S. I'm white.. just in case..)

They feel like they own black men. If a black man is good-looking, gay, and a serial killer--he could be walking the beach holding hands with k.d. lang and Ellen Degeneres and gurlfriend would be like "Hold up, I KNOW that nikka ain't...WTF?!!".

5. When black women tell me no doggystyle because I'm to big (8"+) is that the truth or is there else too it?

They just don't want to surrender themselves to a big O and with a white man (other than Oprah and Tom Cruise jumping on her couch). But they surrender when the coast is clear.

6. Why does every black woman feel the need to tell me they don't suck dick and then within 5 minutes they're sucking it and well?

AXE Body Spray.

7. Why does it seem like a disproportionate amount of black women are tom boys?

Oh, a black woman isn't supposed to like the Super Bowl or hockey games? Or drop 3 40ozs. of Old English while you are still working on one? I know black women who rock corn rows, wear men's Stacy Adams suits, sip Hennessey and smoke more Cuban cigars than Suge Knight and they love cock.

8. Why do black women always need to reiterate they dont date black guys a million times a minute?

Because if they are saying it, then it is the truth.

LOL!

I have a good question, IMO.

I was at the hair shop the other day (yes, guuurl I had to get a touch up. okaaay!?!) and this woman comes in. She was obviously mixed, but could play up her non-black ethnicity if she wanted to. As soon as she came in, the other girls, who weren't as light mind you, started hatin'.

"Unh, look at her. Oh you know she tryna be black today..."

"She is sooo played. Fake-ass Alicia Keys bitch."

...and it was to my understanding that they didn't even know her.

So my question is,

Why is it that if a light-skinned sista is around darker skinned sistas they wanna hate on a sista?

THANK YOU! It is the assumption disease. Often sadly they are assuming that because she is lighter or with more caucasian features she will reap the benefits of attracting men, success, etc. Some times that is the case. but just as likely she too has her own set of issues to deal with on her daily walk. It is sad that we can not affirm one another and be happy when it is another's turn for success.

Yeah my great aunts attended said institution while my great uncle was later a Dean at the school across the street. A cousin is a dean there now. Yes there was a lot of uncouth behavior but it has been flung from both sides. Where is there is one saying "If you are white you are right, if you are brown stick around, if you are black get back. There is another that say if you are "Black is honest but, Yalla's so low down" so it goes in both directions. Folks need to stop tripping and start saving their money and doing their school work and trying love for a change.

Does this mean we are going to have to be responsible for ourselves? Oh the agony of it all. What will the government use to buy our votes if we grow up and take care of ourselves?

If we were in the shower together who'd lather who up with soap 1st?
Probably me, I can be impatient like that.

Wow, do u have any good opinions of black women?
Apparently not, which is why I opted not to respond.

Too many generations of misplaced hate and believing that light makes right.

I have in my life encountered a few light skinned people who think their poop don't stink and that they are God's gift to the world. People like this leave an indelible mark on your psyche.

FWIW: My extended family is very much colorstruck. I grew up with my light skinned paternal cousins giving me crap & beating me up for being to dark and my maternal cousins gave me crap for not acting black enough. :wtf2: Oddly enough the few black girl friends I currently have are all light skinned.

You hit the nail on the head. That's why I was surprised you asked me the pink/green or red/white question. I thought everybody knew AKA's were the light skinned sorority. Traditionally in order to get in you had to be lighter than a paper bag and preferably have 'good hair'. The only time a brown skinned gal like myself got in was if she was super smart and didn't mind doing the others homework.

ISnt it interesting how vastly different one's view point can be depending upon where on the spectrum one sits? Most of the AKA's I know are chocolate. Perhaps it depends upon where one went to school and during what time period. I have seen a number of lighter Deltas as well. I alsways thought it had more to do with the personality type than color. AKA's I know are very girly girl and the Deltas have always been known to be the party girls. It may vary from school to school.

As for bad behavior marking one indelibly I have actually had the opposite experience PA. Most of the stupidity I have encountered regarding race has been from people who were darker than I. I understand that perhaps it was because they might have been made to feel bad about themselves by some lighter skinned cretin but we need to all give each other a break.

That's true, plus at VSU the Deltas were pretty much whores. Hence I didn't pledge.

I grew up believing I was a medium brown. Definetely not dark skinned as my maternal grandmother who lived with us always made a point of pointing out 'dark' people. So imagine my shock and chagrin when a housemate who was easily 8 shades darker than I, made a comment to the effect of dark girls like us.

I WILL TELL YOU THAT my sister (light skin)...and two nieces (a light skin and a dark skin niece) are AEO (DELTAS) and my aunt (who is also light complected) is an ALPHA--AKA.

And it gets really bad on the holidays between my aunt and my sister. And my aunt is ill and my sister don't care...it is disrespect time because of the sorority rival thing. It is so embarrassing too.
