black woman do seem to be a bit bossy, are you the stay at home type, or the dictator business woman type?
If those are my only choices I choose c) none of the above.

seems to be the other way round in black homes, are woman dominant in black societies?
Uhm, it depends if you are speaking of the numerous tribes and countries on the continent of Africa. It is my understanding that most are now patriarchal as well as dictatorial in their rulership. If you were to go back a few hundred to a thousand years you may find more matriarchal rulers. As for black American society today it varies by household.

I'm not so much offended by the ridiculous, broad sweeping generalizations you made above, so much as I am shocked that you don't know better.

i like it that way to be honest:biggrin1:

Then why ask such a silly leading question?

I can only speak for myself but my hair won't grow past my shoulders. This is not as easily manageable a length as you might think, as black hair can be notoriously difficult to maintain and style.
Are you sure it won't grow beyond shoulder length?
I've found that my hair grows out rather than down - it doesn't seem long curly, but is midback/brastrap when straight - you may have the same thing happening. I'll post a pic of my hair so you can see what I mean.

I have a serious question, now let me see if I can articulate it properly at 3:30 in the morning. Do you think it's tougher for a black girl than a white girl to have non-mainstream values, or belong to some non-mainstream subculture? By that I could mean having some freaky sexual fetish, or being a goth chick, or just sort of a bohemian/hippie/artist chick with priorities higher than money/career or love/raising a family.

I have known a few black women who fit loosely into those categories, and all of them inhabited social circles that were mostly if not entirely white.

Yes, I am sure, even as a child it never grew past my shoulders.

Girlfrien' you gots that good hair my nana used to talk about.:cool::tongue: My hair does not have anything remotely resembling a natural curl or wave. It is naturally kinky and nappy.

I dunno, tougher than what exactly? I've never met a black goth girl. I know of a few bohemian/hippie/artist chicks. Depending on the day you catch me I could be the bohemian/artist type.

Why do you think it's more difficult to inhabit a white sub-culture, social circle? As long as there is a common denominator there is no problem. Almost all my friends are white. The common denominators between us vary. I love classic rock, I'm a girly-girl who loves to shop, I swim, ski, go antiqueing, and majored in art history. Also I grew up in a white neighborhood so I sound like them. Is that what you mean?

Is it true that "they" like butter pecan ice cream, and hide it in the back of the freezer so that they don't have to share?
 If you want butter pecan ice cream buy your own. I am not sharing mine.

I dont find that true at all. What you call bossy is just a strong woman. A wonderful quality that i admire and love. Most men fear a strong woman. I dont.
