Not sure yet. I haven't mingled enough to know. :redface: I think it's probably about the same but I'm not sure. there have been instances where I could tell white people were uncomfortable around me but I think that's because I am so obviously not from here. Southern born blacks learn quickly to, know their place. As far as I am concerned, my place is any place I want to be.

I hope you realize that the above statement contradicts the following statement.

I have met only a handful of black men who I could say were "honest".

1. You switch between African men and black men. Do you mean African men, African American men, or all black men?

2. How many African men have you met to agree that they're mostly dishonest? Is it possible you were just around a high-concentration of dishonest ones? Is it possible that you're exaggerating the amount of dishonesty? Possibly. Is it possible that most African men are dishonest? Sure, but we'd enjoy more proof than "My wife says so and I've met a few."

When I lived in the innercity in Peoria, IL I made friends with most of the little kids on the block, all of them African American. They mentioned to me once that the worst beating they could receive was one with a hanger. I then asked them all if they had been beaten with wire hangers (a clothes hanger opened up so it was like a whip). They all could relate to being beaten with wire hangers, except one. And that one kid was the most abusive bully...it all does not make much sense to me. Am I correct in assuming that most black children are beaten severely? Is this more common with poor families?

:rofl: Hmm, first off I am a black American woman. I have never seen or heard anything good about African men as husbands or boyfriends. You couldn't pay me to go out with one of them. Not because they lie but because they treat their women like shit. In addition I don't do that submissive walk two steps behind the man crap.

Now if you want to talk about American born black men that is all together different. I mean the type of black man whose family came here as slaves. Some are gorgeous, I mean drop dead beautiful inside and out. There are some who define the word gentleman in their actions and it's not a put on, it's just who they are. They are good men. They get up early, work hard all day, come home to play with their children and make love to their wives. They do not run the streets causing trouble. What you see on television is the lowest common denominator, the worst that we have. You never get to see the best of the black men; because they are too busy just trying to survive, to make the news.

Yes, from my own personal experience I would have to say that black men are honest. However, I know that there is good and bad in every ethnicity, race and creed. I'm sure there are dishonest black men out there but I have not encountered them.

hahaha I'm sorry but I have to laugh. No, most black children are not severly beaten. I was spanked as a child and I was most definetely not poor. My mother used her open hand and on one occassion my dads belt. She held the buckle in her hand, don't go getting all frantic.

I think that spanking is not uncommon in most normal black households. It is completely different from the horrific child abuse most liberals and white people imagine.

I know I will get shit for this but spare the rod and spoil the child is a valid statement. Perhaps if more people cared enough about their children to spank them when they got out of line we wouldn't have so many school shootings.

No, I am not shrinking. :tongue: I was 5'8" in college I asumed that was my actual height. About 4 maybe 5 years ago a woman at my job insisted I was at least 5'10". I took off my shoes and she measured me. Damned if she didn't say I was 5'9"! Last Monday, at the doctors office the nurse measured me and I was exactly 5'8". I think I must have had a poofy hair day when the girl at work measured me.
