Hello black girl, I have seen a lot of stuff on the internet about Micheal Jackson being dead, the death of which person you have never met has affected you the most?
I was affected and saddened by varying degrees by all of the recent celebrity deaths.
Ed Mc Mahon - was the sidekick to Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show for over 20 years. I have always been a night owl and grew up watching that show. I remember when it was 90 minutes and was upset when they shortened it to only 60 minutes.

His sideline was the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes and like many other Americans I fantasized about the day he would show up at my front door with a BIG check.

Farrah Fawcett - When I was a kid and she was at her peak, she was still Farrah Fawcett-Majors. She was the beautiful, blonde angel that everyone loved. Bonus she was married to the Six Million Dollar Man they were the epitome of the beautiful Hollywood couple.

I probably never gave her the credit she deserved as a dramatic actress; but she had a profound and positive influence on my floundering pubescent self-esteem, for which I am eternally grateful. As a result of that poster in the red one piece swimsuit I stopped being ashamed of my small boobs with the large and pronounced nipples and started walking taller and prouder. I rarely got my hair to feather as perfectly as hers did, but I think the gift of self esteem to a 14 year old girl is worth far more in retrospect.:smile:

Michael Jackson - I literally grew up with his music. I watched the cartoons of the Jackson 5 religiously and I even had the coloring books. From 1976 until now, I don't think I have ever made a mix tape/CD that didn't include at least one of his songs. I think I stopped liking his physical appearance after Thriller. Over the years and his myriad of changes I have chosen to remember MJ as he looked when I first became aware of him. That's the Michael I had a crush on and when I hear ABC, or Rockin' Robin I can shut my eyes and see his sweet, brown, smiling face.

Hey black girl, I've got one....

What is it with BPT? (Black People Timing)

I've found that I've inherited BPT since nearly all my friends are black and I just hate waiting around for anything. So now I always turn up about an hour late for everything so that we all arrive around the same time. :biggrin1:

It's very hard to adapt back to being on-time when I meet anyone white.

I've asked a few of my black friends this before and used to get similar answers, but just want it confirmed I guess....

Asked in love, of course.

Honestly, I have no clue, though I have been guilty of this myself from time to time. :biggrin1: Here, in the states, we usually call it CP Time which stands for colored people time since that's what we used to be called many moons ago.

Colored People's Time, CP Time, or CPT, is an American expression referring to a stereotype of African Americans or Latinos as frequently being late. It is an inside joke, in that both groups use the term themselves, making light of when they're late, or being known for being late for appointments.

Similar expressions
 • CPT is similar to Indian Standard Time, a similar inside joke which arose separately among South Asian American immigrants, referring to Indian immigrants as always delayed a few hours in all endeavors (not to be confused with the actual Indian Standard Time).
 • The phrase also crops up in other social groups, in the form of "Mormon Standard Time" and "Jewish Standard Time."
 • It is also similar to African time, which is widely used in Africa to denote a more relaxed outlook on time.

Are we addicted to large black dicks....no because there are average sized black penises out there...trust me.
Uhm, I guess that was a rhetorical question because you asked and answered it yourself.  FWIW: I seem to be addicted to the large, white cock lately. :biggrin1:

Dear Black Girl,

I actually don't believe that Michael Jackson molested little boys. I have been frequently ridiculed for this belief by other white people.

Do a lot of black people agree with me? Is this another thing kind of like black people thinking OJ really was innocent?

Hello black girl, where are we going for lunch today?
I had peanut butter on a piece of toasted brown sugar cinnamon swirl bread with raisins for lunch and a glass of orange juice. It was delicious. As for tomorrow, I'm not sure yet. Maybe a hotdog with mustard and relish.

No, most of the black people I know either think he did it or have become ambivalent to his life and music in general. During the various trials I was so sure he was guilty and now, years later I have my doubts. I really don't know what to think.

I think that to the extent he was a sexual being at all, he was a gay man -- but that was simply not an option for someone raised by those parents and Berry Gordy, so he became pretty much asexual. Kind of like Morrissey in reverse.
I don't think he was asexual or he wouldn't have married Lisa Marie Presley.

hi there black lady, do black people have less chance of getting skin cancer ?
No, actually our chances of skin cancer are greater than those of white people. For more information read this article: Skin cancer is colorblind -- no 'free pass' Also, black people don't just tan, we can get sunburn as well. I never go out in the summer without a minimum of SPF 30.

Hey Miss Lady,

My question kind of tags onto that one. One of my best friends happens to be a straight black woman who went with her husband to Cancun for their anniv. Anyway, when she got back, she was so mad at herself for staying out in the sun and getting darker....

My question is, why the aversion to being a shade (or two, at the most, in her case) darker?? I'm baffled. Seriously. Can you help?

That's easy, because white makes right. Throughout American history lighter skinned blacks have had an easier or better life. During slavery the lighter skinned slaves got to work in the house as opposed to the field. Many house slaves were actually taught to read and write.

For a better undestanding of colorism and/or being color struck watch this video: Color Struck and rent the Spike Lee movie School Daze.

Plus for most women of color, it's a pain in the ass finding the exact right foundation and powder. Once you get a tan you have to start the process all over again. I finally broke down a few years ago and realized that I had to have a summer and a winter set of make-up. :irked.

FWIW: This summer I am in love with the Walgreen's brand spray on sunblock SPF 70.

Don't you think maybe that was an "Arrangement"? They've been showing that famous kiss between them at the awards show lately, and it sure looked to me like a guy kissing a woman for the first time. It was like Lisa Marie's face was a bbq rib and Michael was chowing down.
