Rubi:
That is a damn fine question. It's very hard to pin down what is a genius. The definition is a person with extraordinary intellect or creativity. But then, what is extraordinary? It's very relative. For some geniuses, it's doing something unique. For others it's just being able to solve something unsolvable. Genius is something to be decided by others.[/quote]

Trentster:

I would be interested to hear who you consider a genius. Alive today, that is.

Drifter:
I completely agree. Everyone could be a genius, provided they do something amazing. Give me time though, I'm still young.

Speshk:
Hmm, I wish I could answer that, but I cannot. There are so many people doing amazing things, it's hard to determine if it's a fluke, or actual talent. Bram Cohen is on it, Shawn Fanning as well. The hard part is that a genius is usually not recognized until death.

To me a Genius does not exist.
Never has Never will
A persons pretty IGNORANT to claim they are.
Man made bullshit

I loved all and everything about someone like Bertrand Russell
Those who are claiming to be a Genius.. young or old
Are you placing yourselves in his category
Dont think even he would claim such.

Once they show a flaw in anything they say or do
BOOM/Non Genius
Thats my take on the whole

When I call my self a genius, I mean genius IQ, that's all. Will I be an actual genius, probably not, but you never know. And I'll never know, since I'll never believe I'm a true genius.

I don't entirely get what you mean, but I believe nanotech will be available in my lifetime. The human body is a bunch of nanobiology.

I am a white male Mensa member with a 180 IQ (not that IQ's are a good measurement of intelligence) so ask me any question what so ever.
Since I have a long standing interest in psychometry, could you tell me which instrument was used to measure your IQ? If it's not a well-recognized test, could you include mean, standard deviation, and any references to norming data?
