plenty of cunty dicks, in similar positions, in the world
especially in certain countries
longer the assholes are in there, less chance theyre likely to give up there power & control
the people can be partially blamed, for allowing more than a say, 3 year term................

but then often Western Democracy as such, is no true yardstick........

Second, the UN / NATO are just a bunch of special interest groups that need to be disbanded
I agree they are special interest groups and am happy that the UK has a veto on anything it does. Obviously not deserved, but thats no reason to give it up.

or at a minimum the U.S. needs to resign from both.
Likewise, all the US would gain by resigning would be a loss of influence, so it will not.

Third, Isreal are they good or bad? I'm confused on everyones position. Oh that's right they do what they need to do to protect themselves.
israel has been lucky that it is a largely western nation surrounded by Arabs and thus is a natural tool for western powers. of course, its also unlucky in being a largely western nation surrounded by hostile arabs. So it has no interest in the established rules of the game and patrons to protect it when it breaks those rules. Perhaps its an honest response, but its position has made it able to be honest.

The UN is a talking shop for superpowers to settle their and others business without having to go to war. If they cant agree, then its war.

There seems to be some suggestion that if the US cant act over Syria, maybe Israel will do it for us. I'd say this is exactly the sort of action which makes Syria our enemy. The reason there is all this terrorism and war is that it is a reaction to our own interventions. We started it.

The UN has no power in the world when it comes to these countries that don't recognize the rights of others.

Likewise, all the US would gain by resigning would be a loss of influence, so it will not.

The only influence I care about is the safety of this country and the UN is not required for that to occur.

I agree they do not play by the rules of most Arab countries by surpressing thier citizens. No need to go into the whole religious background.

The UN is a talking shop for superpowers to settle their and others business without having to go to war. If they cant agree, then its war.

I prefer to settle my own countries business without the input of special interests. In reality no one needs the UN's approval to go to war.

With my stance I am removing the need for terrorism focused at the U.S.. Trust me though that will not stop them from targeting the U.S.. But the message we must send is do what you want in your country but if at anytime we are threatened we will take whatever action is required to ensure our safety.

They stopped being seriously threatened after 73. With their agressive colony building they have destabilized the region even more. If they were smart they could have marginalized Hamas, but instead they pursued policies that gave them strength. Instead the PA lost power.

Isnt that what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan? The uS claimed it was threatened so it invaded them. Although your policy sounds fine, in action it is the existing one.

I dont think I mentioned religion. On which note I was hearing yesterday the president of somewhere who was a political exile in the Uk now says the Uk is a very muslim country. Not because it embraces the religion, but because of its attitudes of freedom, tolerance and institutionalised help for the less well off. All a matter of interpretation then. As indeed the christian religion has been interpreted very differently over the years, and still is. Not least by different groups within the US. Religion is used as a tool to justify a course of action and always has been.

obviously. But the UN reflects world realities. Bullies rules if you like, but its probably as good as you can get. If the Un will not agree a motion of censure, then it means in the real world at least one major power is going to actively oppose anything you do with force.

No Response
Warning duly noted and taken on board.

No race / hate was intended by my expression and when I look at the other adjectives used to describe e.g. Assad I am surprised that my own was picked on.

It will not happen again and I will ensure my future posting are absolute minimal if at all to effect this

I would agree information was not fully disclosed or altered by some which began those invasions. But the UN has made mistakes also. Nothing is perfect.

You didn't mention religion. I mentioned it to say that is a topic of its own. Sorry if I implied that.

So the UN, if it worked, could theoretically tie our hands and determine how the world should function?

Certainly. Which is why the US does not sign up to some of its treaties, such as the right to arrest US leaders as war criminals.

Al-Qaeda is the one sending arms in to help the rebels :frown1:

US official says al-Qaeda involved in Syria - Middle East - Al Jazeera English

US intelligence thinks that the rebel bombing may be linked to Al Qaeda. There have been a few from the rebels tageting Syrian Government intelligence offices. There is also arms smuggling from Iraq which shouldn't surprise anyone.

Virtually all of this news is coming from the US and of course Al Qaeda is your bogey man.

I've sympathy with this political slogan (Glory be to free Syria! - like Egypt) but what seems appropriate to me is the shortest verse in the Bible: "Jesus wept".

Bashir Al - ASSAD is a murdering, loathesome individual. yes, he deserves to be taken out by the CIA, a navy seals team or who ever is willing to do the job. the world wont miss him. however, it would be better to catch him alive and bring him to trial in the international court of justice in the HAGUE, Netherlands. but the likelihood of that happening is close to zero.
