I'm amused by astrology and give it the benefit of the doubt. As Jason so patiently described the difference between the natural and the supernatural in our universe, it comes down to all of us enjoying information presented to us for what it's worth. If you don't like, ignore it. If it interests you, have fun with it.

The sun, moon, and mars were in the fire sign Aries when I was born. Some of the things that they say about Aries really fit. Red has always been my favorite color, I love going fast (cars, bicycles, skiis, etc.), have an impulsive personality, and have been extremely independent and self-reliant all my life. I seem to be most attracted to Leos, unless they are over-the-top drama queens!

I'm a complete and total Pisces. I love swampy places, my favorite color is purple, I have a ridiculously overactive imagination, find mundane tasks onerous, am attracted to mysticism, and a predilection for art. I have excellent, good-looking, trouble-free feet, and am proficient with tarot cards. My moon is in Libra and that fits as well as I am very good at law and have a good sense of fairness.

I do tend to see certain signs in other people as well but I don't study astrology enough to tell what are the typical traits of some signs.

Astrology is interesting to say the least. However, even though I personally have found some hilarious conicidences relating to it in my own life, I do not in fact see them as anything other than that.

In my lifetime as a gay man I have found myself always attracted to men falling into two astrological signs. These are Cancer and Scorpio. I am, by birth sign an Aquarius. In every case I did not find out the birth sign or birthday of any of these people until well after we had met and had something going on some level.

According to most Astrological "experts" a relationship between an Aquarius and these other signs should be a journey into hell. None of these relationships have fit that description in any way. My current relationship has endured over a decade now.

Astrological predictions as to what is going to happen are basically no more than a giant roulette wheel. Some may be right and some may be wrong. It is no different than any other forecast. It may be a very well educated guess, but it is still a guess.

Most legitimate scientists refer to Astrology as a "Psudoscience". I can not prove it either way, but, I would not make life changing decisions based on some Astrological prediction personally.

Every credible study that follows a well-designed protocol (i.e., carefully looking at all sources of error, false positives, false negatives, confirmation bias, etc.) shows correlation no better than random chance.

Unless, of course, the supernatural nature of astrology precludes careful scrutiny by "scientists" with their obsession of attention to detail, repeatability, verifiability, ...

Show me a careful test using a method that is repeatable, not just anecdotes, and then we can talk. Otherwise it's all just blowing smoke.

(If you think you can, act quick! If you can show, under properly controlled test conditions, that astrology can predict people's personalities, you could be awarded $1M from the James Randi Educational Foundation, but the offer is only valid until 3/6/10.)

It should be noted that the only full picture you'll get is from a properly cast horoscope that includes all influencing factors. The sun sign alone is not enough to describe the details of one's life or personality. The daily horoscopes are as close to useless as possible as they don't take any of those factors into account.

If you really want to see if astrology is accurate for you then find out your birth date, time of day, time zone, and geographic coordinates. Plug that into any of the web pages that will do it for free and you should get an accurate chart that a competent astrologer can interpret for you.

The sun sign only begins to paint the story of your personality. It mostly shows what's on the surface.

There are a lot of factors to consider...for example how many planets you have in a certain sign. I have a preponderance of planets in 2 signs - Libra and Sagittarius even though I am a Virgo. These all connect to form an outline of who you are...

I am intrigued, amused and entertained by astrology. I never pair myself up with a man because of his astrological sign, however. I must admit though I enjoy reading a daily horoscope as there always appears to be some general good advice by which to carry on one's life, sometimes gentle reminders to a person like me, to be cautious, etc. !


I am a Leo, and of all the signs, this one definitely fits me right on.... (growl!). Treat me nicely and I'll purr for you, do me wrong, and I'll take your head off with one bite, or simply drag you back to my den and eat you alive!

I must agree with your post.
You are probably an "introspective" person as well.
Some people just aren't introspective, open-minded, etc.
I think all the signs are interesting.... I have actually had nice relationships with people of the same sign, intesting... however, with mine as a Leo, sometimes with strong egos involved, can turn into an unhealthy, unbalanced relationship, for both men/women and women/women relationships, platonic friendships, comitted partnerships, business-wise, etc.

I do tarot readings for free and I interpret the cards as openly and honestly as I can.

As to homeopathy.... It isn't bullshit. It may not cure you of anything, but the principle behind it actually is true. Even when a dilution reaches the point of being molecularly undetectable, the dilute solution behaves as if it was still in the presence of the original diluted material. And as homeopaths claim, the effect become more pronounced with greater dilution.

I am a Leo, and I love my sign. I wasn't until after I did a little research on astrology that I really got into it though. To hear myself being described so perfectly only made me want to look into it even more. No, I don't think I'm gullible, just because I choose to take an interest in something that some others dislike or disagree with. I see it as simply having an open mind, I have learned about so many other things just through my interest in astrology.
