I have no idea about the validity of this, and the couched use of 'alleged' and 'Heavy' suggests it's so much fluff to fill column inches. That said, the same thing occurs with commercial pilots so I suppose it's not totally implausible. The sabotage element is more concerning.

No matter what job they hold people are still people and will do stupid things, although it is kind of sad.

I'm waiting for more facts to surface. Still, if I had joined NASA in the 1990's, and was having to fly now during an administration that's known for placing politics over qualifications when filling positions, I'd be worried enough for my own safety that I might turn to drink, too.
