I wonder if these high fliers like Madoff and Stanford ever stop to think about the real damage they do to real people. I hope they go to jail for a long long time. But they probably will spend 5 years in a country club prison and still be millionaires when they get out.

At 90 still working!...If I had to pick I would say pool boy for an older man.

This reminds me of a story (perhaps apocryphal) that is told about the late photo-portraitist Yousuf Karsh.

He was supposedly photographing Winston Churchill near the statesman's 80th birthday.

When he was finished, Karsh expressed the hope that he could take another photo of Churchill at his 90th birthday. But of course, it was unlikely ...

"Why not?" Churchill is supposed to have replied. "You seem hale and hearty."

Yeah, they should go to jail for a long time and their money should be given back to the people they stole it from! Because that's exactly what people like Madoff do to the ordinary people who invest for retirement savings, etc.

Wow, that sucks.

My Dad grew up in the Great Depression, and just like most people from his generation he avoided using credit for most of his life. Many who lived long enough, however, began the journey into the foray of American brand consumption in their old age as they watched the stock market multiply many times over and felt that trading their retirement funds for stock dividends was the smart thing to do. '29 could never happen again.
My Dad never regained trust for the stock market.
He has invested only in savings bonds.
Thus far he is the only one in his group of friends who has not lost tens of thousands of dollars.
He spent his whole life trying to avoid the possibility of being retirement age and having to work KFC.

Now if the dollar collapses, though, I guess we are all SOL!

nice steady answers.

at 90 i'll be only 20 years older than I am now. I want my big thick one to harden as easily as it does now, and when it falters, i'll use as I do now, a bit of blue magic.
I hope to have firm flesh and the brain to look daily for women to make it worth it.
Above all, I hope to not be in wheelchair, drool, or senseless. And if so, some how enjoy it anyway.

we should bring back eye for an eye

In light of the 90 year old example that got taken for $ 3/4 of a million dollars. If I were that victim, at 90, I would hope to be healthy, strong and skillfull enough to track Madoff down. Regarding my vision, accurate enough to place a grouping of bullets from a clip or two into his head and torso.

You see all the shots of him sitting alone at his computer at all hours of the day and night, I wonder if he's surfing around LPSG. If they can get camera shots of him like that someone could get gun shots off at him.

At age 90? Probably still listening and dancing to techno while whipping younger kids in Street Fighter. I'm doing that at 35 now, so why should that stop?

Hadouken!!!!
Forgive me... Street Fighter IV came out recently and it has completely taken over my soul.
