...and yet I don't feel even vaguely drunk. Far too much turkey. How does anyone succeed in getting plastered at Christmas? There's far too much food to surely manage that.

The trick is to break out the hooch before you start eating. Irish whiskey in the coffee. Bloody Marys and Mimosas before brunch. Roll into cold beers for the remainder of the afternoon. By the time the meal is serviced you should be several Scotches in your cup. Not even turkey can defeat a multilayered head of alcohol consumption.

ETA: It also helps if you don't usually drink more than a couple beers with dinner. Cuz I have been lit since my first "Merry Christmas" I'm gonna pay hell for this tomorrow.

Actually I did lol. Think it's finally starting to kick in. Though I did space them out way too much.

There’s no time for spacing haha. Pretty sure I’ve just been topping myself up since Christmas Eve really.
And keep mixing drinks will help. I’ve had champagne, whisky, beer...the list is endless.

It's tradition in our house to prep night before, get up early day of, start the production process of cooking while drinking. Break for a while, eat and after dad is gone, I've broken into the beer. Hop Stoopid is probably how I'll feel tomorrow
