Very funny.

I can accept that 00. something is the beginning of the day, but what about closure of the previous day?

Isn't there a moment when it is 24:00? Why is 24:00 being discriminated against?

Of course 00.00 is correct. In the same vein, that`s why most of the world celebrated the start of this millenium in the wrong year. The first day of the millenium was the first of January 2001 not 2000!!! The last minute of the previous millenium was 23.59 on 31.12.2000. Likewise, when you count to one hundred, it goes 98,99,100 and because most clocks do not count the number of days, it just shows 00. Is that any clearer? -- Probably not, because when people get one thing fixed in their mind it usually takes a seismic shift for them to understand anything different. That`s why, after a child is indoctrinated over many years with religious nonsense that they find it impossible to forget things like the Creation story in the bible, and accept the truth of Evolution.

Does this equally apply to you?

Is there or isn't there a moment when it is 24:00?

If there is, then why not flow through with 24:10 etc.? Do you think we suddenly wouldn't realise that the date had changed?

There is no 24:00. By definition there are 24 hours in a day, and if you measure something relative like a clock does the passage of time, it helps to start at 0 (or 00:00:00.00000...) from there you get to 23:59:59.9999... which passes back to zero as by definition it is the next day.

This logic could equally be used to show that no specific time actually existed.

Can I use this as an excuse when I'm late?

What should we do about it? What will Horror Movies do without Midnight?

As Bowie sang - Time it flexes like a whore, falls wanking to the floor.

If you're in the UK the Horizon programme on BBCi is all about time, it was quite good.

BTW I follow the teachings of our Lord, Tagliatelle Carbonara (with extra chunks of bacon), who was sent down to us to make our lives nice and creamy smooth and was eaten for our din-dins. Yummen.
