That was more than 4 years. He’s young, was even younger then. It’s perfectly appropriate to call
him out and regard his comments as disgusting. But, also allow people to grow and learn and improve. He shouldn’t be condemned for that for the rest of his life, especially since he apologized.

As far as I understand they were joking. I have a Brazilian friend and we make all sorts of horrible comments about each others race as a joke. The worst the comment the better. So it's seems exactly like this case. Don't think there is any real racism in it. If anything those jokes only show how stupid racism is, and that's why it's funny.
