Aussie Guys & Circumcision

I'm 22 and intact (uncut). I went to school in regional NSW and about 1 in 10 guys were circumcised.
Two of my best high school friends were circumcised but neither of them were born in Australia - one was born in Brazil and the other in Denmark. Very odd seeing as circumcision is rare in both those places and neither of them were cut for religious reasons

32 here and used to do exactly the same. Still get quite a few who would rather not say their circumcision status though, wouls skew the resullts.

Good point, I hadn't factored that in. Generally uncut is more popular in the gay community so probably more cuts than uncuts choose not to divulge their status, meaning my stats may have overstated the uncut percentage. I've done "field research" too, and reached similar results.

22 and cut. Its only done for religious reasons or if you pay for it (in a private hospital) in Australia now... Its not done i npublic hospitals or at birth. Most guys i know are uncut. Which is sad... because i love me a cut cock

One aspect to be considered: in the 1950s and 1960s, there was a large influx of uncut europeans who immigrated to Australia. So when you see an older aussie who is uncut, the question must be asked whether he was born in australia or in europe.

So the circ rates for people who were born in australia during that time is actually much higher than the circ rate in locker rooms since the locker rooms includes many who were not born in australia.

ya, ya, ya.
Had nothing to do with the strong statement from the RACP that circumcision was not worth the risk.

40 and Cut. When i was at high school %90 of the aussie guys were cut. Naturally European and Asian guys were not. Most of my friends who are my age are cut but from about 30 years old and below seem to be uncut.

I'm 22 and uncut, and while I don't know the circumcision status of many of my mates I don't know one who is circumcised.

I'm 29 and uncut. I went to all boys boarding school and majority of guys were uncut not too many were circumcised, say a few handful. Seems from late 70's and especially since the 80's most boys are now left intact!! Which is a awesome thing! Love being uncut and uncut cock :))
But yeah defs think it is only done now for religious, medical reasons or by parents whom pay for it aka private clinics to be done for their choice.

I'm 32 and uncut. When I was a kid I certainly thought everyone my age was cut, but I now realise the uncut kids must have been a bit more secretive. Probably half my mates my age are uncut.

Me too mate, used to retract my foreskin to look like the cut boys. High school realised there were a lot more uncut boys than i thought.

That's really interesting mate that you kept your foreskin back to look like the other boys. Guess it's important as a kid to fit in.

Wonder if many other uncut guys did the same?

Yes, I think this is common where circumcision is the norm - giving rise to the the myth that "All ... guys are cut". And where it is not the norm, maybe the reverse happens, circumcised guys keeping it hidden.

Yes - born in the UK in the 70s (even though I'm only 27), where penises were heavily foreskinned, and then had to face Cape Town where I thought I was in a serious minority. Actually, I didn't know about foreskin then, and assumed that South African boys just wore their foreskins back. So that's what I did when I peed from 7 onwards. In South Africa, you do a lot of swimming with buddies, so there is a lot of genital revelation, and as the poster above points out, you can hide being uncut, but not being cut.

Eventually I learned that we were about equal in population size in high school, and also felt a lot more confident being slightly more mature than my peers.

Late developing guys are always going to have problems. An interesting thread maybe ... I was comfortable in my mid teens.

I'm curious to hear from other guys from Aus and SA in similar situations (I think in NZ and the UK in the 80s it's all uncut, and the US is cut). This reflects the West coast now, probably the east coast soon, and maybe the midwest in 20 years.

The cut/uncut thing is somewhat interesting, buy I actually think the late developer is a far bigger issue, and a serious psychological issue for the boys, particularly if they are in a circumcision/not minority.

So I think there are many young men looking for guidance and doing so very innocently.

I always used to skin it back at the urinal or in the change room at school, hoping the other guys would think I was circumcised. Because most of them were.
