Happy and relieved for you Dragon

bit of Aussie Humour, i geuss amongst the storm
Ch7 reporters trying to report the devastation, and the live interviews with the Aussie folk, several are smiling/joking saying
Not as bad as Larry?? ( 2006 Cyclone)
Mum says not as bad as Larry her girls slept thru it,
resilient lady opening/closing front/back door to de-pressurise the house, house survived
(folk were not so much in the eye of the storm)
man sitting at table, one hit roof gone

Larry pretty much destroyed a lot of the houses that were par-standard. Thank christ for some of THE most stringent building codes in the world.

Make no mistake...Cyclone Yasi was officially as big and as powerful as Hurricane Katrina.

So glad to hear you (and your property) got through it OK. *hugs*

Thanks, Sweetheart.*hugs* back at ya.
I knew I should have been born with gills but all this bloody rain and really crappy weather has gotten a bit ridiculous.
All the weather models are saying we are up for 3 more cyclones before the Wet is finished.
Fuck that shit running.

Until I met you, I'd never realised North QLD had so many cyclones. Seriously. I guess it's because only the really big ones make the news here.

If only they could figure out some affordable way of sharing all that water around. We've had 5mm of rain in the last three weeks and are busy melting in a heatwave. And we're right on the coast!

Things have gotten a bit exercised due to La Nina.

Hahhah..you can have our water..honest.
There was always bitching coming from the Southern states about Queensland damming the upstream river flows and about Queensland's supposed over generous water allocations.
Trust me..right now you can have all the water you want.
Promise.

How 'bout you share some water, and I'll share some dry. We'll probably end up with a perfect climate between the two.

Does anyone know yet what sort of size the other 3 cyclones are likely to be?

No idea about size unfortunately..here are this seasons predictions for the Coral Sea.

BoM - Tropical Cyclone Seasonal Outlook for Queensland

I particularly liked this part:

". . . prepare early not only for cyclones but also for floods as we have already experienced record September rainfalls across the state."

Prepare for floods indeed!

My fingers are crossed that the remaining cyclones stay right out at sea.
