Avatar etiquette (nudity)

If it was my board, I probably would NOT allow nudity in avatars.
Remember, were not all over 18 on this board, and some people find it offensive to see somebody elses winkie or breast shoved in your face.
Im all for seeing it...but trying to think of everyone on this board.
I'd put the pics in your profile and in the picture section...thats really where it belongs.
Id much rather see a smiling face than a body part.

There's always someone who will be offended regardless of what you select for your avatar.

The gospel according to MisterMark simply advised that genitalia were not encouraged in avatars: nudity was fine as long as the tool or anus wasn't visible. Animations and cartoons were okay. As for the photo gallery - that's where you could show your nether regions but explicit sex was verboten.
I have a hunch that we'll receive an epistle from Rob_E by the first of the year that will give us an idea of the direction in which he sees LPSG heading.

It was from the previous owner that no one should exhibit nudity in their avatar. This was in case there were younger than 18 eyes browsing the forums. To be able to view nudity, you had to be a paid member.

And being a paid member makes this board go Round and Round, Bigger and better.
I dont know about the rest of you Gals/Guys, but I enjoy reading someones posts, seeing a smiling face on their avatar, and then if I want to see more...I view their profile.
My favorite avatar is a guys smiling face with a beautiful chest shot. Second, a smiling face fully clothed.
Same for the ladies - even though im on the other side of the fence, there are some beautiful women on this board, and I enjoy seeing their smiling faces in their avatars.
It states: "Theres more to me than whats under these clothes"

Mister Mark did not require paid membership to see the galaries. Paying members had uinrestricted viewing of the galaries. those who wren't paying members were restriected to the number of photos they could see. I think the number was four, not sure.
The reason for the avatar rule was federal regulations. All people viewing the gallereries, paying or free members had to state that they were over 18. There is no way to put that requirement on avatars.
One comprimise might be to allow all members to put one picture in the gallary that is available to all members that sign that they are 18 or older. This might be a separate galary. Then continue the practice of unrestricted views by paying members and 4 or 5 views per day for those who are free members for viewing other photos.
WE have to protict this site from unwanted federal interference.
