Why do so many question the scientific average cock size?

Seriously though, if I didn't know what I know, I'd probably doubt it too. Anybody with a computer and any interest in porn will be bombarded with flattering, sometimes deceptive, and even downright fake pictures of big dicks. You have to go to really specific porn genres to find regular size people and/or ones who don't take decent pictures, so you could easily get the impression that everyone is six plus. To make matters worse, many of the people who should actually know better, and have seen lots of real dicks are size queens and fantasists who may never let go of the ridiculous numbers we've heard for so long.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't doubt it. Then you end up with even less people who are proud enough of their normal size dick to be showing it off in pictures, so the ratio remains skewed and it just gets worse. But most guys must be in the average range themselves? Do they think they are small?
And then you get a snowball. My ex was 8 inches, but my new bf is bigger so it must be 9 inches

“prove it”I have been wondering about that too. Especially because I ran in some discussions about this. I see 2 main reasons, being porn/ deceptive pictures/ etc and the disability to measure properly. How many claims are out there ‘showing’ an 8 inch measurement where the owner is believing it is a correct measurement while everyone being mildly interested can debunk it as a bad measurement of a 6 inch penis. And then you get a snowball. My ex was 8 inches, but my new bf is bigger so it must be 9 inches
I don't want to be average. Maybe, I would like to have the median measured cock length. But, if that median measurement was lower than the average-sized cock, my ego might fail. So, the average cock size has become unbelievable?

Scientific evidence? As @Donismon indicates, we need an observable correlation of the measurement techniques.“prove it”
MOST studies are based on flaccid stretched. That’s sort of the “standard”. And because most studies don’t measure erect, we don’t have any solid evidence for the average erect girth. Overall volume plays an important role in how one perceives size. A penis may be 5 inches with 6 inches girth, making it appear bigger length wise.Scientific evidence? As @Donismon indicates, we need an observable correlation of the measurement techniques.
I hadn't realised that some penis length studies had been based on flacccid stretched length. That leads me to wonder about the major differences in measurements of the same penis stretched post circumcision procedure.
Why would there be a difference? At least I suppose they are not stretching the foreskinScientific evidence? As @Donismon indicates, we need an observable correlation of the measurement techniques.

Because being average for a man(in just about any metric) in modern times is becoming less and less desirable. Why do so many question the scientific average cock size?
