Though I'm a king of avoidance and procrastination, I don't fit into any of the social descriptors described in the OP.
Mine is easy enough to trace: both my parents were/are alcoholics and drug abusers. Raised in such a chaotic swirl, the safest choice of action was generally to do nothing at all. However, once on my own, the high-risk/high-reward aspect of my character began to kick into overdrive. I have no issue dealing with 98% of most social situations, and in fact have always worked with the public in very friendly and talkative vocations.
The flip side is that occasionally avoidant behavior kicks in: I loathe confrontation, for instance, and have a strange but undeniable phobia of telephones and mailboxes.
