Bc at the end of the day he looks white. He can’t identify with what people of color go through in terms of racism. If he had Jackie Chan’s face and he was darker like many East Asians are, then maybe he would understand. He also doesn’t have an accent so he’s never been teased for it. White people have accepted all his life.

This is the same when I notice light skinned Hispanic people vs dark skinned ones. The light skinned ones are more accepted with white people (as long as they don’t get on the news for murder). So many of them become just as racist even against their own people. Some even become Trump supporters. This is why you see guys like Alan Valdez becoming Trump supporters despite his race.

But dark skinned Hispanic people, especially ones with squinty (almost Asian like) eyes, who appear more “ethnic” will receive a lot more racism.

My Hispanic friends from all over South America tell me that people are just as racist there if not more racist than Americans. The light skinned Hispanic people control all the power and money and are extremely racist to the dark people. My friend said that he brought his bf to a gay club once who was dark skinned and the guys said “oh, you brought the help?” They knew he was his bf too. He said that people are more openly racist there than here. I was surprised that even the gay community behaved this way.

Anyway, back to Axel. Axel strikes me as the type who always got along with white people bc he’s accepted as one of them. Even growing up in NYC I always remembered that the white kids talked to the mixed Asian kids and not the regular Asian kids. It also helps that they have a white parent. I even noticed back then that when the parents meet they always talk to the white parent and the Asian parent becomes sort of like a prop.

I’m not saying that white people are all racist and evil bc I actually had great experiences with a few growing up who made a strong effort to help me make friends with people in the white community I grew up in (I was born here too but it was still hard and they noticed it). I just hope that the next generation is more mindful of not excluding POC.

Man, I still remember when I was the only POC in my class back in the second grade and everyone got invited to a birthday party except me. Anyway. I highly doubt Axel ever experienced this.
It amuses me how Americans talk so much about races, and on top of that, they have the nerve to speak about other countries as experts. They claim that South Americans are racist, when here we have never had racial segregation laws in our republican history. What matters to socially ascend here is money; if you have enough money, you live like a king regardless of your race. The good thing is that university education is free here, so if you're a peasant but have the brains to enter a national university to study medicine and become a doctor, you have a bright future. They also forget that in South America, there are countries where the population is mostly white, like Uruguay and Argentina. Everything else is communist garbage and ideas that come from leftists to promote division in our countries.

From what I've seen in movies and TV series from the United States, and also because you've had racial segregation laws until well into the years as a republic, I believe that the United States is a much more racist country than the majority of countries in the world, including South America.
