I seldom fly BA. If this stands I never will again.

BA charges £240 for one extra bag

I especially like this bit : "According to the Daily Telegraph, BA confirmed that its sales staff were instructed not to tell customers in advance when they booked their tickets."

    That's friggin' ridiculous!

AirTran reduced the maximum individual weight for bags from 60lbs to 50lbs. between Easter and Independence Day last year. Also without publicising the change. Ten pounds may not sound like much but it is! In the good old days, prior to 9/11/2001 most US Airlines allowed a single bag to weigh 75 lbs.

Perhaps they are hoping that you will decide to just leave your luggage at that price and they will have nice Christmas presents for their friends and family this year?
