Can any of you math wizards do anything with this formula for an ellipsoid?

(4/3)*pi*r1*r2*r3

It's from [ftp]http://library.thinkquest.org/20991/gather/formula/[/ftp]

Thanks Pecker,

Why didn't I know that?

It pretty well confirms what I had thought, and that my previous calculation was pretty well right (just a fraction under maybe).

Finnmark, on that formula, if I have done it right, you come out at over 75cc .. ie more than three times the standard if Erik is right. But you surely must have already known they were big :)

Finnmark: Thanks, Max, for doing the homework! "Knew they were big" ? ... no, I don't know that I'd given it a lot of thought. Comparable size isn't that easily checked out in casual observation, anyway. I only recall one instance that was unmissable: a boy in our class at school had a gigantic pair the size of a small grapefruit, on top of which his (comparatively) small dick sat incongruously. He was the object of much hilarity, but - to his credit - took it all in good part.

prepky: hey Max,

care for some more home work, a fellow math drop out, I have measured mine to the best of my abilities and it came out to be 7x4.5x5...would you mind?? Just wanted to see where I set on the average scale?

Thanks

Prep,

Pretty easy to follow the formula Pecker dug up and reach 82.5 cc ... ie way over average, 3 or 4 times greater in fact, depending on what you take to be "average".

prepky: thanks Max,

That is very kind of you to do this, and as for average, I was using the 20cc as average.

Thanks
again

Thanks for finding that!

It's a lot simpler than I was thinking. I was remembering
the area of an elipse involved some sort of eccentricity
factor and I had no idea what that would be.

Also we can figure out the real answer without dunking
body parts. I'd prefer to stay dry anyway.

Anyway looking at the equation, it can be simplified
further ... instead of dividing each of length, bredth and
width by 2, it's faster to just multiply them all together
and divide by 8. And then since you are multiplying
by 4/3 pi anyway you can cancel the fours and you are
left with:

(a*b*c*pi)/6

where a, b, and c, are length, width, and height.

I tried it on myself ... I got 6 by 4 by 3, which
works out to 12*pi or 37.7 cc.

Looking on the internet I found a normal range of
15 to 30 cc, with an average of 18.6 cc.

So ... I'm officially "abnormally large". :)

But just barely so ... oh well.

The best way to measure them is put them in your mouth. I know, a bit crude. See how much room is left to play around. Best to compare against grade "A" eggs. The eggs are one thing, it's the sac which brings eveything together.
