Our country doesn't have a pot to piss in and here comes Barry with a lavish trillion dollar spending proposal. Yippee! Maybe we can borrow funds from Jupiter or Saturn. He's like Paris Hilton at Saks Fifth Avenue on Sanford and Son's budget.

Here's an idea. Require those that recieve public assistance to submit to a drug test before collecting their check. Hardworking Americans need to submit to testing to stay employed; the same should be true for those vacuuming public funds.

This would create additional dollars that could be redirected for financing Barry's spending proposal.

Why don't you give us some details of this proposal? It sounds an awful lot like you're just repeating what McCain said.

I thought McCain's proposal last night to buy out homeowners was ... interesting. If I understood it correctly, he wants to essentially renegotiate the home value based on current market conditions. (I would favor bankruptcy judges being empowered to reset the interest rate as part of resolving specific cases. This was in one of the bailout bills, but was excised by the banking lobby.)

Not sure if this is the most craven attempt at vote-buying, or most populist 'leveling' proposal have ever heard from a 'conservative'. There was one estimate that this could cost $300 Billion or more .....

Who is the spender here?

Perhaps he should do like you and your peers star and just spend all day trading invisible money on computers and he can come up with some financial backing for his proposal.

What is the percentage of the population that receives welfare?

What is the biggest item in the national budget?

What gargantuan number of dollars cannot be accounted for by the Pentagon?

Neither candidate or party has come up with a balanced budget in years. So everyone in office is a tax and spend, or well borrow and spend

95% get a tax cut. Nice... for one, about 40% don't pay taxes. But regardless....

- we going to be off of fossil fuels in 10 years (well after he's gone in 4 years)
- be on a national health care system
- and deploy a socialistic educational system

i love it. i love it. i love it.

the 5% will have all their money sheltered. there are seminars going on throughout the fall for financial advisors and registered independent advisors to make their client's portfolio's Obama proof.

at least we'll catch Bin Laden. which would be a mistake if we know where he is, and can easily monitor him and nip everything at the bud.

where was he 4 years ago. such a shame. think how much better EVERYTHING would be had Obama run and won in '04. oh well.

x704, you know how republicans are. They don't mind overspending or erroneous spending as long as it's poor people's taxes. It's their fault they're poor isn't it? Only stupid people are poor, smart people work on Wall Street, not in pharmacies or bookstores. As soon as you go for rich people's pockets, like Obama plans to do, they get scared...and angry.

Rich ppl are already paying more than everyone else. Marley, how much more lean on the infrastructure does a rich person have? Guessing you don't like a flat tax.

FLAT TAX of 35% (which even Republicans can't even push)
Person A makes $250,000 - pays $87,000
Person B makes $50,000 - pays $17,500

OBAMA SYSTEM
Person A makes $250,000 - pays $132,000
Person B makes $50,000 - pays $14,500

This is all the while, Person A is sending their kids to private school. Injecting/impacting far more into the economy than Person B (air travel, investments, housing, etc...).

Last I checked.. you need an undergraduate degree to pretty much work the counter at a pharmacy, much less a post graduate degree to actually dispense. What do I know.

Come back to us, when you own a home, have a family, pay 5 digits in yearly taxes, and/or actually contribute to your tax base.

Of course they are, that's 3rd grade math.

Injecting/impacting far more into the economy than Person B (air travel, investments, housing, etc...).

Ahh, the generic "impracting the economy" line, that never gets old. 99% of that benefits you and your sector of the economy so what's your complaint?

Last I checked.. you need an undergraduate degree to pretty much work the counter at a pharmacy, much less a post graduate degree to actually dispense. What do I know.

Obviously not much. Only two people have undergrads at the pharmacy I used to work at.

Come back to us, when you own a home, have a family, pay 5 digits in yearly taxes, and/or actually contribute to your tax base.

Ahh, the typical elitist attitude. Nothing substantial to say other than "come back when you make as much as I do." Are you on crack or embalming fluid?

Why do you think the Big wallstreet investors are selling off and reinvesting overseas?
They're afraid of Barry getting in and want to avoid more capital gains taxes when he gets in, they would rather take the hits now.
I personally know people who have done this and some who are going to do this.

i am no longer worried about Barry...he is a loser either way...at this point..if he is leading...he should be 15-20 points ahead of mc cain..he is not...
if he gets in the white house....ahhh...he is gonna have a Dem congress and senate...they will so bring ruins to this country...A democrat will never be elected again in years...case in point...Jimmy Carter...

at the gym this AM...and i hate to word it like this..but..for the lack of another...most of th guys are retired CEO's of INTERNET companies, a steel company...a Dow componet...and a few multi millionaire industrialist...have slowly been sending their money 'elsewhere' out of the country...the guy i work out with..he met with his accountant...and told him to do anything he has to do to keep his income under 100k...derferred comp, tax free bonds, etc...whatever it takes...he is tired of paying the freight...i agree...i make a ton of money every year...gratefull..u bet...but...what i pay in taxes...im ready to say...DONE DONE DONE..STICK A FORK IN ME I'M DONE...
so if a random sampling of guys like this are all thinking this...what do u think all the other people in this situation are thinking..?

i say..TIME FOR A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION...throw ALL of them out in DC...take away their pensions, the health care...and all their perks...we are paying for incompetent people to run our Government...fuck em...
they want to have a government medical care...have them give up their own health care...and have them go on the one they just created...OR...create the same health care that they enjoy on our dime...for everyone else...they don't pay Social Security..but look at their pensions...for life..serve just one term..u get paid for life...what the fuck?
its time to halt all this...and while we are at it...kill all the left wing media...the bias is so bad....and people are so stupid...its a no win game for the rest of us...
support the constitutional convention

Here's an idea.........your idea involves unreasonable search and seizure and may be un-constitutional.....what drugs I may or may not take that don't impact on others is NO ONE'S business

The only problem is "TRICKLE DOWN" economics don't work, or we wouldn't be in the mess we're in/

God I hate this kind of drivel.

McCain fully intends to INCREASE the spending on the WAR... pissing away 100 BILLION dollars a year killing the wrong people for NO GOOD REASON.
Iraq is NO threat.

McCain intends to LOWER the taxes on the rich even further, and intends to CONTINUE the republican de-regulation idiocy.

So- in FACT- Obama wants to spend money on rebuilding the US economy. ( you do that by funding infrastructure and other initiatives that create jobs )

McCain wants to CONTINUE with the same economic policies that made him central in the Keating 5 scandal and created THIS fiasco.

Anyone who thinks that this economy can be fixed without MASSIVE government spending on job creation is deluding themselves.

The ONLY thing that ended the depression was massive government spending on JOBS programs and spurring industries that created jobs.

McCain would like to KILL our way out of a depression.

Obama would rather put Americans to work on something OTHER than war profiteering.

Either way, folks... we ALL are gonna pay for allowing our nation to switch from manufacturing to an economy based entirely on DEBT SERVICE.

The opposite of Privatized is NOT "socialism", its SocialIZED.

Here are some examples of Socialized government programs...

1- GOVERNMENT-- the entire IDEA of government is a socialized solution to public needs.

2- Military- Our armed forces are SOCIALIZED - military contractors sell their products to the government at a profit, but your government DOES NOT MARK UP those products to YOU, the taxpayer. Not so with Blackwater- who charges YOU 3 times as much as the government pays for military services and equipment direct.

3- WATER- your government supplies you with the safest drinking water in the world...at ZERO profit. Because there is no profit- they do not have an incentive to cut corners and thus endanger your health. Municipal water is checked 4 times PER HOUR, every day , all day. Idiot Americans buy bottled water- which your bottling company takes from the TAP- and runs thru a very large Brita to take out the chlorine that kept it pure. And charges you 6 to 10 times as much as the SAME water costs from your tap.

4- SEWER- your SHIT is whisked away from your home and processed by a non-profit governmental service. They take care of the pipes, the mess, everything. We all pay for it, and we get it for COST.

5- FOOD inspection... thousands of public employees whose ONLY job is to ensure the food you eat is safe. a service provided at cost.

I could go on and on.

The people who try to SCARE you with the idea the socialized healthcare or other services are "wrong or BAD" or communist, are simply ignorant or trying to CHARGE a percentage on top of what you would otherwise pay.

Private enterpise harnesses individual greed to innovate and create industries and jobs.... But it DOES NOT LOWER the cost of essential services.

The Garbage company that gets the contract to take away your trash makes a profit, the same as Lockheed makes a profit selling bombers to the Air Force.

Privatizing essential services simply means that ONE MORE LAYER of MARK UP is added to the cost to YOU the taxpayer.
Along WITH the incentive to cut corners and cheat to maximize profit.

The entire POINT of government supplying essential services is that the government can NEGOTIATE how much profit is appropriate for a vendor to charge.

Nobody really notices... but since telecom was deregulated... we are all PAYING for things the government USED to make AT&T give us for free...Like information calls.

I don't mind folks who DO nothing and CONTRIBUTE nothing carving a profit off the stock speculation on the manufacturing of Pantyhose or iPods.

But I do not need some Beemer driving dweeb carving a profit off of MY illness nor my deathbed.
I do not need my doctor's INCOME to be tied to how much care he can DENY me.

In some areas... we can harness human avarice to our benefit.

In other areas... human avarice can ONLY make everything worse.

Govenrment is the IDEA that SOME aspects of a society are best handled as a collective.
Defense and essential- non-deferrable services.

Because, when services are essential, when their purchase can NOT be deferred... free markets ALWAYS result in price fixing.

In THIS particular fix we are in....

The LAST thing we need is more fucktards who think "government is the problem"

We can't AFFORD for govenrment to be a problem...
We must DEMAND that it be a solution.

People who think government is a problem prove themselves right by making SURE government is a problem.

^Yeah, damn him. Now instead of the platinum deluxe spa CEOs will have to settle for the golden deluxe for, what, atleast a month or two. Guess what some execs at AIG did the day after the bailout passed? Took a vacation to the most expensive resort in the US. If you're rich, you don't have to worry about anything except being slightly less right for a minimal amount of time.
