I ran track in high school (and in college too) and the uniforms in high school were so outdated - you know the really really short ones from the eightys? I was always a little self conscious about how short they were and my bulge (that even though isn't anything compared to what I've seen on here) felt crammed into them. By the end of the race, I was always hanging out of the bottom of my shorts and my friends always teased me about it - which made me even more self conscious about it. I wasn't into showing off and didn't really like being called Fire Hose. That nickname came from a camping experience, but my friends always chanted it as I came across the finish line. When I got to college, I was very glad to have new uniforms that I didn't hang out of.
