None of these guys are representative of the sort of men I'm attracted to and the ones I know in real life.

I suppose reality TV attracts a certain type of person but it's always embarrassing to see certain types "representing" gay people.

I agree that there is a rise in distinctly average people thinking they're something special - they are all over social media. I don't understand it but I can only assume they amass a bit of a following and it goes to their heads.

I know the scouse guy had a tiktok presence during the pandemic. I think he's the most normal of a lot of them in there but the accent for me is an instant turn off.
I couldn't agree more with you, the producers focused to much on trying to be "nice" and diverse when it came to body types and looks. It's like the purposely put in unattractive guys in the show to make themselves look progressive.

But a lot of that is because of what you said about average people on the internet having main character syndrome. Theres so many unattractive to average people being loud on the internet saying they deserve everything and claiming to be victims. And because they're the ones making the most noise I think the producers went in that direction making sure they didnt get overly attractive gay men for people to complain about the lack of representation etc etc.

Perhaps they will change tack in a second series? I am aware of I kissed a girl being made but Im surprised no second series of I kissed a boy has been confirmed yet.

I'm a little surprised that Dan and Ollies split didn't really get much if any mention in the media.
Lmao why would it this thread alone only has 31 pages lol. The show clearly wasn't that popular even within the LGBT community so no media outlet is going to care about their split.

Do we know what the viewing figures were?
Sometimes you don't need to know just the hype alone you get a feel if something is doing well or not e.g saltburn everyone is talking about it.

That's why I used this thread as an example if the show done well there would be more discussions, pictures of the guys. Plus it's also about money if the show done well the bbc would have announced a second series

The show has potential if they decided to make a second series all they need to do is get of bunch of conventionally attractive men and the show will do well. At least with the LGBTQ community anyways.

The show felt to much like they're were trying to appease a particular type of audience. And as you can see it didn't work wheather people want to be honest or not people want to see fit guys. Most of these guys were not conventionally fit hence why matty name keeps popping up again and again because he was the most attractive. And before him it was Ollie and I'd argue its because he was the best out of a bad bunch

You might be right overall but I thought Ben was considered the hottest early on?

Well loads of people were chatting about it in the gay bars and clubs in Liverpool but I guess that might not have been the same elsewhere.

All I saw and heard was the community talking about Ollie. This thread again is a good example.

Before Matty came into the house I thought CJ was really cute in the face and he has a nice perky bum. But even with CJ it was mostly awwww he's so cute I just want to look after him not ohh he's cute I want to him to sur on my face lol

Rumour has it in Liverpool that Mikeys local fame of the back of the show got him a few nice shags on the gay scene...
This reads like weird fanfic. Are gay men even that famous to have a scene or am i not old enough to understand lol? Also i've run into ollie in hampstead heath and he was legit taking every and all loads lol. Realised it was him when he stood up.

A ton of backlash online about having apparently "gay love island is woke BBC + trying to indoctrinate kids" My Dad said as much too. So much hate nowadays toward the gay communtiy. Suprised no one broguht it up here tbf
They just released a teaser for the new series of "I Kissed A Girl". So if there's backlash, the BBC isn't paying attention.

BBC's I Kissed a Girl coming soon

Well they did they're making a lesbian version not a second season of the gay one. This wont get any backlash society doesnt have an issue with lesbians. It's only gay and bi men for some reason society has an issue with
