I couldn't agree more with you, the producers focused to much on trying to be "nice" and diverse when it came to body types and looks. It's like the purposely put in unattractive guys in the show to make themselves look progressive.None of these guys are representative of the sort of men I'm attracted to and the ones I know in real life.
I suppose reality TV attracts a certain type of person but it's always embarrassing to see certain types "representing" gay people.
I agree that there is a rise in distinctly average people thinking they're something special - they are all over social media. I don't understand it but I can only assume they amass a bit of a following and it goes to their heads.
I know the scouse guy had a tiktok presence during the pandemic. I think he's the most normal of a lot of them in there but the accent for me is an instant turn off.
But a lot of that is because of what you said about average people on the internet having main character syndrome. Theres so many unattractive to average people being loud on the internet saying they deserve everything and claiming to be victims. And because they're the ones making the most noise I think the producers went in that direction making sure they didnt get overly attractive gay men for people to complain about the lack of representation etc etc.
