Has anybody seen the BBC Planet Earth 5-part series? It was shown in UK but not in the US. Can anyone tell me where I can download the series?
Yes I have and it's awesome esp Epispode 2. It was just repeated. I don't think it's downloadable from any normal channel. I have recorded most episodes I'll try and think of a way to upload them....
I've only seen episode I "Pole to Pole". A friend of mine had somehow downloaded from somewhere. Its truly breathtaking. Hope they'll show the whole series in the US soon.
I watched the re-run of that last night, I missed it first time. The 2nd episode, Mountains is epic. I have a home cinema and watching it there adds an amazing extra dimension.
Get the program Bit Lord and search for the Torrent of the program. I am sure it exists somewhere in cyber space.
I don't mind buying the DVDs but currently its only available in UK and the only chance for me to see the whole series in if somebody would upload them in the forum like this. The entire series are released in MVGroup.org but in .torrent format. I have no idea what this type of file might do to my computer. I am not familiar with this type of P2P environment. Can u offer any advise?
Bit Lord is OK....it's just a slow process as you are dependent on the upload speed of the peers, but the programme is worth the wait. If I can rip the episodes off my DVD I can try and plonk it on a website for you...just don't tell the BBC....
Torrents are different from previous P2P file formats in that instead of getting the entire file from one peer, you get bits and pieces (pun on BIT) from everyone at once. This usually means a faster download speed if a lot of peers are "seeding" the torrent from their own CPUs or servers. There are a few reliable Torrent websites that list files and note the numbers of peers and leeches (people with the file who are not actively seeding). The greater the overall number of seeders and leeachers, the faster the file will download. Google for: the pirate bay, mininova (sp?) FWIW--I have never had any issue when I have taken a few things here and there.
Not the whole series, but loads of clips from 'Planet Earth' here... http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/animals/planetearth/realmedia/ check out the snow leopard hunt, stunning photography! cheers Dillon
Aarrgh!!! WHAT'S UP WITH THIS: Non-UK users Unfortunately you are unable to access this content. This is offered only to audiences in the UK.
Yeah...based on your IP address. Try and find a UK based anonymiser it may get you around it, or have a look at the source code you may be able to bypass the check if it's a half assed job...
Thanks Dong, but you might as well be speaking Vulcan to me. Actually I could check the source code, but even if I found the area of interest I wouldn't know what to do with, since I don't have strong coding skills. As for the anonymiser, that really does sound like a phaser to me.
Sorry.....IP address=Internet Protocol address, an number which identifies your PC on the Internet and allows data to get to and from your PC. It's in the format XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX and the first one or two (or sometimes 3) are assigned to an ISP (internet service provider) and those numbers can identify the country or even city of origin, hence the block An anonymiser can hide your true address behind another one, eg a UK one and thus allow you to view UK only content. I don't know of one but if you google you may turn one up.... The source may allow you bypass the check. If you have Real player installed try this link (it's the wild dog hunt): http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/animals/planetearth/realmedia/video/bb/pe0108_16x9_bb.ram If it works I'll get the rest for you..
www.torrentspy.com will probably have it. You need something like http://azureus.sourceforge.net or BitTornado (google it) To download torrents. Does anyone know where I can find the documentar 'Loving and Cheating?' I saw it last night and it was awesome but I missed the first half and I'd like to see it again.
Seems this won't work it was worth a try....you could try this: http://3d2f.com/programs/45-232-hide-real-ip-download.shtml I've no reason to suspect it but please don't complain if it turns out to be spyware or something...there are Plans C onwards....I will always try and beat censorship..it sucks...Good luck:smile:
This works from the US, paste into your browser or better directly into Real Player...enjoy.. rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/nature/animals/planetearth/bb/pe0108_16x9_bb.rm
