My suggestion is the let your hair grow. The more you shave and wax it, the thicker it will reappear. Are you a swimmer who goes for speed via competitive racing? If not, I would not shave your body hair.

actually if u do shave... it does cause thicker hair, shaving is bad for the skin... waxing will last longer and will make the hair thinner after bout 3 treatments... but more painful.

personally i think smooth is nicer but i dont go shirtless very often in public...

it won't grow back any worse than leaving it be - obviously with shaving you get thicker mature hair growing back whereas if you wax (or similar) you will initially get finer hairs growing back.

if your a competitive swimmer then perhaps you have a reason to get rid of them but otherwise a bit of hair can look very attractive on a guy.

Waxing may last longer but there are products out there that allow for hair removal. Nair for men works fairly well. Takes approximately 4-5 mins to remove the hair after its sprayed on then just washi it off in the shower.

The hardest thing in life is to want what you have.

I was thinking the same thing when I read this thread this morning. I would love to have a body covered with hair so every time someone starts one of these threads I always think I wish I had all the hair you are trying to get rid of!
Someone asked me at the gym recently if I wax or shave and I said... neither.

Lex is 100% right and NudeYorker looks perfectly fine the way he is. That being said the OP is on the young side and might be feeling some peer pressure or something to look a certain way. I's day if it's just for this one day you wanna be smooth shave it off but do it the day before so you're not covered w/reddness from shaving or thos little bumps that sometimes happen when you first shave.

If you've got a hairy chest, be proud of it. You might need to trim it a bit, but it generally looks good on a man. On the other hand, men with very little chest hair often choose to shave it off, as a perfectly smooth chest looks better than one with just a few hairs.

Waxing is best in my opinion....it simply lasts longer. Shaving leaves lots of itchy stubble.

if you have sensative skin...DONT WAX!!! I made that mistake once...*before I embraced my inner bearness* :) When I got waxed....I was broken out HORRIBLY within a half hr of the waxing...stayed red and itchy for a week or so..

just my two cents and speaking from experience: I've had chest hair pretty much since I was 16 and I would shave it for my g/f at the time if I was going to be taking off my shirt or sleeping next to her (rare until we got to college). After we broke up I kept shaving it only if I thought I was going to get some...They all told me I didn't have to shave.

Don't shave unless you have a relationship that requires it...and if they require it you might want to look elsewhere. Most women (from my experience, which is in no way a comprehensive or statistically accurate) do not care that you shave it, and those that do are girls not women.

Now...all that being said...I hope you're at least some what straight or that was a waste of breath. I can't speak for gay men...or women.
