You have stated that a thread you know to be misogynistic should not be considered so unacceptable that someone should leave. That is precisely why I say you are part of the problem. You do not understand. The women here seem to agree in our private group chats that homophobia and racism garner far more criticism than misogyny, and we do not approve. We do not think that simply because we are in a location which celebrates the male form that we need to be subjected to hatred and bigotry, or that when we are, that bigotry and hatred should be ignored or downplayed as it ALWAYS is. You just did it yourself. You're part of the culture here of which Dolfette could no longer abide.

Many of us are of the same mindset, but simply have not yet been completely fed up. What we have done instead is remove our galleries (I replaced mine with pastries) and change our names to ones which are less feminine/less attractive. We have removed our genders and sexual orientations from our profiles. We have posted publicly some of the ridiculous private messages we get. We have stated our cases over and over. But many of the male members here do not understand.

Little by little, we'll all be banned or quit, and all who will be left will be the sycophantic men-pretending-to-be-women. We hope the misogynists of this site and their enablers/ignorers will enjoy that.

In that thread, I was just under the impression that you will run across a dumbass once in a while who will do something stupid. I've only been here a year, so maybe I don't understand like some of the other women, but some men will be jerks and they should just be blown off. Not everyone on here is disrespectful. I guess I need to explain myself a bit better because it seems I haven't got across what I mean. So here goes.

Firstly, this 'culture of which Dolfette could no longer abide' is not just an LPSG phenomenon. It exists everywhere, sadly, and the number of times I've heard someone come out with something vile which makes me wonder just what decade this is, is absurd.

But, and this is the key thing here, as objectionable as I find those kind of views, they are, ultimately, just someone's views. So no, it isn't 'unacceptable', in the sense that we can all think whatever the fuck we like. I cannot understand how some people can think the things they do, but they do. That's just the way the world is, and LPSG is merely a small subset of that so it's no different.

Thing is though, if you come out with that type of crap then you've got to expect to get called up on it and, sure enough, people were doing just that in the 'well-used genitals' thread. So what makes you say that it is 'always ignored and down-played'? There were enough sensible people in there telling that guy what they thought of the thread that suggests it wasn't cool.

But that's all that can and should be done to attempt to alter the status quo. dolfette seemed to be suggesting some kind of moderator interference when someone posts something that ticks a box on some arbitrary 'objectionable views checklist'. You can't ban people for being a misogynist or delete threads they make, that's an incredibly crass approach, and in any case it won't do any good. Far better to point out to people that they hold disgusting views and then have it there to be seen by everyone.
