Yeah we really should not be ashamed as women or men to go together & buy porn, or vibrators, or whatever will help increase our sexual enjoyment. Most of the time I think these topics, masturbation in particular, are not discussed ENOUGH in real life. There's the internet, but......real conversations should be acceptable too. It's more often NOT....

Everyone was doing it at senior school - no surprise there. I had 2 JO buddies so it didn't really need to be asked. Those who were into full intercourse were more discreet - apart from the couple (m/f) caught performing/receiving fellatio behind the school canteen!!!They never did live it down (and the teachers were the worst gossips!).

I never have asked anyone except a gf about sex. What we talked about was between us and NEVER went anywhere else. Confidential matters should be kept that way.....in my opinion. I was in the library and overheard two guys talk about a girl that I used to date. I became angry and got up and left. If she knew they were talking about the most intimate parts of her she would have beat the crap out of them. Neither of them have ever seen her without clothes.

Their was a survey question trying to find out what percentage of the male population masturbated... the conclusion found that 90% of the surveyed males admited to masturbating and the other 10% lied.

Everybody does it, it's just that not everybody admits it.

Yeah i have been asked by almost all of my team mates when i was in soccer or basketball in HS. Never denied doing it just some heard me wrong at times and thought i hadnt yet and they would tell me i should try it. Was also asked by a bunch of class mates when i was in the 6th grade but at that point didnt know what it was so had said no.

Just to add to this:

It was a fairly common thing in school, that people would ask to be assholes.

If the subject comes up these days though, it allways depends on the company.

There is no point in asking someone if they masturbate as well all know everybody does..I'll admit i do it on a daily basis, the longest ive ever held out was 3 days.

However you saying it was back when you were young..At that age it is pretty much someone elses way of making sure they arent the only one.

While I've never been asked directly, I thought I would chime in about the "percentages".

Honestly, I did not masturbate until the age of 18---my first year in college. So I do believe when people say they don't...I was one! And to this day it's maybe once a week or week and a half.

my freshman year of college, i took Psych101...the professor did a quick experiment:

everyone took a piece of paper and answered some questions, didnt put their name on the paper, then handed it in...i dont recall all the questions, but it was stuff like "are you a smoker?", "have you ever done drugs?", "have you masturbated in the last week?" stuff like that

so he took all the papers & counted 15 out of the 20 people in class that had masturbated in the last week...then he said "alright, now i'm going to ask the same questions, but raise your hand if the answer is yes"...when he did that, i think only 6 people admitted to masturbating...i was one of them it did surprise me that even at a college level, so many people were embarrassed...



in middle school i remember it being a joke, and no one really admitted to it...but by my junior/senior year of high school, it was no big deal...me & my group of friends actually reenacted "The Bet" from seinfeld, seeing who could go the longest without...i finished second

I'm a great believer in being open and honest, I joked to my daughter's boyfriend about masturbating (he's 15) and said it was disgusting and my daughter (aged 12) said immediately "So why do you do it then?" I didn't know where to look but just laughed.

I've always told her that 99% of males masturbate and 1% are liars.

I do have a friend who's 19 years old and says he doesn't do it. I do believe him because there's something asbout the way he says no. That and the fact he asked me quite what you do etc. I asked him again the other week if he'd had a wank yet and he said no. Bless him. He's worried about what it will feel like etc even though I've patiently explained to him.

When someone asks if I masturbate... my answer is normally, "Doesn't everyone?" because it sort of admits that I do but makes me feel normal at the same time because I know everyone does. So I don't feel stupid saying "Yes, I do." but I still get the point across.
