its not easy being green, and in some parts of the country I’m sure it’s hArDeR than others.

How is it where you live if you are out? Or not out?

Where I live in Va. it varies. In some parts of the state, being out can be a source of ridicule, and prejudice as well as some violence, then there are places where being out is just another something that goes on in life. Many of these places where being out is not as you would think, are the Greater Hampton Roads/Tidewater Area, the Richmond Metro area (where I live) and of course the D.C. suburbs of Alexandria, Arlington. Just to name a few.

I'm from U.K. so it's a lot better than some countries but there's still to many small minders that are homophobic

My husband and I are in Phoenix, AZ. We live in a nice neighborhood and have great neighbors who all know that we are married. The only one who seemed to have an issue with it was the block watch captain. I think he has Alzheimer's anyway, and I haven't seen him since the day we moved in.

It really is hard.

I live in Australia, a pretty accepting country although gay marriage only became legal last year (2017). I'm not out, it's a very big and painful secret. I don't know of anyone who wouldn't be accepting, I've just lived this lie for a lot of years so hard to come out. Pretty lucky to live on Australia though

My wife and I are very accepting and tolerant people. We have raised our sons to be the same. Sadly, there are still enough haters in this world, who dissuade people from feeling comfortable enough to come out. For those, who have lived most of their lives in the closet, they may never come out. Life in the closet is all that they know, and, they only place in which they feel safe.
