Don't know if this belongs here or in the porn links thread, but saw this quote from George Duroy on Men of Porn and thought it was interesting:

Are they all gay, or do you hire straight guys who are gay-for-pay? George Duroy of Belami Online said "Some are gay, some bisexual, and the vast majority are flexisexual."

"Flexisexual" is a relatively new word for the people, who, despite their prevailing orientation, like to sexually experiment without prejudice or labelling and enjoy it. To make it easier to understand, they are midway between straight and bi. From what I can see around me, there are many more of them than all of the gay and bisexual boys combined. In the end, genuine "gay" porn never existed. We have lived with all male porn right from the beginning of the genre."

    Thoughts on this?

Can't speak to their sexual orientation, but it sure seems like he finds some well hung models/actors for his films.

For a long time I have maintained that labels for sexual orientation are too limited, misleading and often unhelpful. At one time, it was common to claim that everyone is bisexual but this may miss the point, too.I tend to agree as George Duroy says that if one can be freed from inhibitions, homophobia (or heterophobia), keep an open and experimenting attitude and don't give too much weight to cultural prejudices, then many people can enjoy sex with anyone who is reasonably attractive, physically and personally.Enjoyment of incidental sex is relatively independent of sexual preferences. Sexual orientation has more to do with how one chooses a life-long romantic and sexual relationship with someone. This need not have any bearing on instances or episodes of sexual activity.

I agree with sykray. Given the number of straight-identified guys doing "all male" porn, the commonly held belief that they are gay/bi and in denial just doesn't hold up. It is more likely that some men who are primarily attracted to women sexually and/or emotionally, are capable of enjoying sex with another guy. Many of them will never act on it because of fear, shame, stigma, inhibition, etc., or simply because they love and are committed to their wife or girlfriend. But when those barriers are broken down, stuff happens. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence that these barriers come down in male-only environments, e.g., prisons, the military, all male boarding schools, Boy Scout camping trips, summer camp, etc. Often such encounters/experiences are dismissed as youthful experimentation or suppressed out of guilt/shame, but it should come as no surprise that as the stigma against sexual relations between men continues to erode and the recognition of the legitimacy of same-sex relationships continues to rise, these barriers will continue to come down, and the opportunities for experimentation will increase.

The Internet is one such way that such barriers can come down. Between pornography, Internet forums, chat rooms, digital cameras, webcams, etc., young men are inevitably going to be exposed to opportunities to share fantasies, trade pics, engage in cybersex or mutual masturbation via webcam, to hook up in real life with another guy, or even to make some money doing all male porn.

Having said all that, it galls me that some "straight" guys have more man-on-man sex than I do.

The cool thing about people in their teens and twenty's (that I've encountered anyway), is that they don't care about sexuality. Gay, straight, etc. Those are boring, intrusive and antiquated concepts. If they are sexually attracted to someone, then that's it; no questions, definitions, etc. It is the ultimate freedom I think. :)
