Although hardly getting any coverage in the mainstream media, the whistleblowers will be testifying before congress tomorrow. It's about damn time! Four Americans dead and it being blamed on an effing video by the Obama administration, when they knew full well it was an orchestrated Al-Quida attack on 9/11. I remember hearing the reports of an attack come through that night and thinking......why wasn't security enhanced during the 9/11 anniversary?

We're now finding out that the CIA knew it was a coordinated terrorist attack from the get go. There initial account reported it as such. But they were told to rewrite it, not once, but twice, eliminating any mention of terrorists. Couldn't have any bad news for Obama a couple months before the election

So hopefully we'll find out who told the special forces to "stand down" when our consulate was being attacked. How far up did it go? Obviously Clinton knew what was going on, and one would assume she informed Obama. But reports have said Obama had no contact with anyone after 5pm, which was quite a long time before the attack was over. And he certainly didn't have any issue going to the fund raiser the following day, while 4 Americans lay dead in Libya.

The other thing I hope we find out was who's idea it was to spread the video excuse. Whoever it was sold it to Obama, who also knew the attack had nothing to do with the video. Utterly disgusting for our President to blatantly lie to us to save his upcoming election :puke:

This whole mess is what happens when we elect a community organizer with a Chicago politics background. Incompetance and cover-ups.

Looking forward to the truth finally coming out :usa2:

I would use that vomit emoticon to describe the manner in which Republicans talk about Benghazi. I would encourage you to compare how many embassy and consulate members have been killed under Obama against the other 20th century presidents.

EDIT: Also, why is it that people refer to Obama's community organizing, but fail to mention his instructing on constitutional law at University of Chicago. You know, one of the best colleges in the whole country?

Because it is a persistent attempt to paint him as unqualified for the position of president. To somehow degrade his accomplishments and to characterize him as a Chicago thug. You can connect-the-dots as to why.

Not sure why Dakota didn't throw in the birth certificate smear. It would have fit perfectly in his smear campaign.

So.....does this mean you agree with how the whole Benghazi debacle was handled?

From a denial of requested extra security before hand, to telling the special forces to stand down and not help those being attacked, to blaming the whole thing on a video?

Not me, Nephi.....I want to know the truth and people to be held accountable for their actions or lack of.

I havent had much opportunity to pay much personal attention to what has been going on with it, but if what I have heard is all true it in the very least seems career ending for Hillary and extremely bad for Obama since this happened and was covered up so near to his election (and even arose during the debates).

I can't understand why these 4 Americans mean so much to the Republicans! Two of the dead guys weren't even govt employees at the time of the event. Instead, they were contract security guys who were working for big bucks the embassy at the time. I don't mean to disrespect any of the deceased but the same Republicans who are so worked up about these victims were cheerleaders for Bush when he was spending billions upon billions to continue a war in which 4 americans died day after day. Where were these Republican hypocrites back then? Furthermore, the election is over and done and Obama won. He beat McCain twice! Get over it and get busy on problems that affect us here in the US!

I believe it is generally a big deal when a US embassy is attacked by a (possible) terrorist group. That big deal becomes bigger when there is conspiracy and a questionable decision to not react to try and save those lives when they were allegedly warned that it was happening.

^ And let us not forget that the GOP CUT funding for embassy security.

GOP Rep: I 'Absolutely' Voted To Cut Funding For Embassy Security | ThinkProgress

Jason Chaffetz Admits House GOP Cut Funding For Embassy Security: 'You Have To Prioritize Things'

All in all a lot of noise in an effort to discredit Obama and hurt Hillary Clinton's almost certain nomination for the presidency.

Though, last I read, Biden might be nosing around for the nod too, in which case, should Hillary bow out, they (Repugnacians) just might find themselves out of the frying pan and in the fire.

It shouldn't be too much to ask that we make absolutely sure that all of the facts about the terrorist attack that killed our ambassador and 3 other citizens at Benghazi are known, however that process might make anyone in the White House or State Department, past or present, appear. And it shouldn't matter to anyone if the president in the White House is black, white, democrat or republican.

Are there some republicans who gleefully hope it will be a scandal that brings down Obama and or prevents Hillary from running? Oh yea, I'm sure of it. Just as there were democrats hoping that Abu Ghraib would bring down George Bush, republicans hoping that Monica Lewinsky would bring down Clinton, democrats hoping that Iran-Contra would bring down Reagan, etc. Cue Billy Joel's old song, "We Didn't Start the Fire"...

arkfarmbear.......this ain't going away, as much as you liberals want it too.

As far as Bush in Iraq......I was very opposed to us going in to topple Hussein. Was not worth losing young American men and women to try to bring freedom to Iraqis.....let alone the dollars spent. Same with Syria......let them duke it out on their own.

But this is about the incompetance and coverup of a tragic event that should have had a very different ending.

What, you expect something to stick to the "hope & change huckster" Obama.

Wait and see, somebody else will take the fall for this, always does.

Just a few incidents that these *truly patriotic Conservatives* want to overlook...
Many embassies attacked during the Bush years before Benghazi

Where was all that concern for our men and women serving in embassies and consulates across the globe when all the other attacks and killings occurred?
Like in 2002 when the US Consulate in the Karachi, Pakistan, was attacked and 10 were killed?
Or in 2004 when the US embassy in Uzbekistan was attacked and two were killed and another nine injured?
How about in 2004, when the US Consulate in Saudi Arabia was stormed and 8 lost their lives?
There is more: In 2006, armed men attacked the US Embassy in Syria and one was murdered.
Then in 2007 a grenade was thrown at the US Embassy in Athens.
In 2008, the US Embassy in Serbia was set on fire.
In 2008, bombings in the US Embassy in Yemen killed 10.
Notice the dates, all before the Obama administration.

And even though *some* Conservatives want to rewrite history and claim that no terrorist attacks happened under Bush's watch let's not forget 9/11. He had warnings and chose to ignore them.

I didn't realize "our men and women" consisted of foreign nationals. I Googled your first three examples and not a single death was an American. I'd have to believe I would find similar results if I searched the rest of your list.

Also, for what it's worth another difference is that the previous administration didn't pretend terrorist attacks were "spontaneous" events caused by rioters that didn't exist.

Funny........I don't recall any of those being blamed on a spontaneous video protest so it wouldn't make Bush look bad. :slap:

Ahhh yes classic TOO!!! Cut the budget then blame someone else for the consequences.

After they cut the budget for the FAA and the lines hit they call up the director of the FAA and ask why didn't you say this was going to happen? They can count on their constituents cluelessness and acute amensia to not recall how we got here.

Congratsturbating: Congress on FAA Sequester

Benghazi is a big Two-Fer the Republicans. They can target Obama and tar Hillary to keep her from running in 2016. Maybe they can pull old Ken Star out to try and get the Clintons again

The biggest misstep was when a Susan Rice and a member of the administration wrongly tried to associate the attack with demonstrations.

The idea that a US military response on the ground was possible is ludicrous even from your average FOX news armchair general of the day or disgruntled gun for hire.

If we go down the path of more hearings, we are ultimately going to spin our wheels, waste more tax dollars, rattle sabres, make bold & unsupportable allegations only to say at the end of the day we fucked up at reading the tea leaves and passing information resulting in the loss of four dedicated lives (no one is holding hearings on the fuck up that resulted in the loss of four thousand dedicated US troops in Iraq or the associated allied and innocent civilians).

The best thing we can get from the whole experience is the same thing we still haven't gotten right since Iraq; which should be teaching State, CIA and DoD to learn how to stop playing the dick measuring game and learn how to share information, cooperate for the greater good and provide informed decision making guidance to leadership and the people instead of posturing for political or parochial gain. The leadership in turn regardless of party needs to learn how to act on actionable information.
