With results like last night, the respect I hold for my countrymen (which was not all that much to start with) has fallen yet again. On the Republican side you have angry and stupid. On the Democrat side you have gullible and stupid. I'm not sure which is worse.

Hilary started this campaign cycle with no message other than "Vote for me. I have ovaries that will magically make me a great president." Then Bernie got in and she went on her "listening tour". She literally and openly went around the early voting states telling people "I have no message nor reason for running. Please just tell me what you want me to say and I'll say it. I'll say whatever you want JUST TELL ME PLEASE! Why don't people like me?" And from that she picked out enough talking points to build a BS campaign around. Talking points that ultimately failed her. Bernie's messaging was crushing her. Since she has no core beliefs, it was easy to shrug off everything she had been talking about up to South Carolina and then steal virtually every talking point Bernie has.

She's an empty pants-suit. Never met a war she didn't like or a wall street deregulation measure she didn't support. She still thinks regime change is a good foreign policy. She's a lying, greedy, war monger.A Neo-con's Neo-con. The vision she is pushing for the country is something she stole from Sanders because her vision... she never had one. She pitched Obama's vision and when that didn't work she cloned Bernie's. Yet people are believing every bit of bullshit she vomits up.

If she is what the Dems end up with in November, then President Trump is what we deserve. I won't be voting for him, but he is going to connect with vastly more people than she will. Hey! Maybe she'll start talking about "the wall" next.
Her husband is pretty much the founder of the DLC (the most corporatist branch of the Democratic establishment), and she is even more corporatist than her husband. Pretty much any woman in the Democratic pay would beer preferable to her (with the possible exception of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz).

I cast my vote for Bernie and although he didn't win Florida he still may prevail. In the chance he isn't the nominee I will vote for Hillary. She may not be perfect but I'd rather have someone who at least goes with opinion(willing to "evolve") than someone who prefers to ignore the people and cling to the past. It comes down to flexible vs rigid.

Clearly we disagree. It appears barring an indictment, Hillary will be the nominee, and she will defeat Trump in November. Clearly Bernie lacks broad support from the party - which he just recently joined - to win. There it is. It's not the best reality9, but it is the only reality on the table. Polls have always shown Trump with high negatives and that will be more evident as his proposals - such as they are - get dissected and hashed about. He will fail. Obviously if Hillary is indicted - which is really up in the air - it is going to be a problem. I am not happy about it, but there it is.

Notwithstanding perceptions misconstrued as "Reality", today is Wednesday, March 16th, 2016. The Democratic National Convention begins July 25th and ends July 28th.

Between now and then , 131 days, One Hundred Thirty One Days, or 3,144 hours, or 188,640 minutes...
there are 29, democratic open and mixed primaries comprising approx. 2,332 remaining electoral delegates up for grabs.

2,383 delegates are needed for a win.
Hillary has 1,599; 67% of the needed total; She needs 784 more delegates.
Bernie has 844; 35% of the needed total; He needs 1,539 more delegates.

There are also 164 "uncommitted" delegates as of today.

Next Tuesday, the 22nd; 149 delegates from Arizona, Idaho, and Utah
The following Saturday, 321 delegates from Alaska, Hawaii and Washington State.

No, she is already 50% ahead of Bernie. He has some catching up to do.
Yes, Bernie will need to win 66% of the remaining delegates to reach the magic #.
Hillary, being Hillary, needs to win 33% of the remaining delegates to reach the magic #.

So Bernie is looking at beating Hillary by more than a 2:1 ratio in the remaining 29 primaries.
The first one to 2383 wins..

It's getting less likely that Bernie will win, but he's not out of the running yet.

He has done quite well despite the fact that Hilary has had her thumb on the scale this whole time.

Assuming she actually has changed her position on issues and she is not just saying what voters want to hear, sure. A politician that truly evolves when exposed to new information is better than one that refuses to change with the times. I for one don't believe her when she says she will be "tough on wall street", will make the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes, address gun control with anything remotely meaningful, etc etc... I think she is only saying those things because it polls well.

I have said several times now that every evolution she has made toward the left since the 90's, she has had to be dragged to kicking and screaming. She held tight to DOMA until opposition to it reached 60% in democrat polling and then one day (and I do mean just one day) "Ah, of course. Gay people SHOULD be able to marry too. I know I held this other belief yesterday and fought for it, but now I agree with all of you and shall (in theory) fight for marriage equality." She routinely changes her rhetoric, but I have yet to see her actually do anything representative of those changes.

Flexible in her talking points, but rigid in political practice.

However, Hillary IS a politician. She won't be satisfied being a one term President. To be seen as a success she has to win a second term and by betraying Democratic progressives she wouldn't likely get that. If giving in to the desires of the left is the way to win that second term I'm sure she would do it.

Then why didn't that exact same consideration prevent her from supporting TPP?

She did change her talking points about TPP... after Bernie started beating her over the head with it.
Sure, but the damage is already done, isn't it? Wiring about the base did not change her behavior in the past, at best it causes changes in her rhetoric. So why would her future decisions change?

You have been reading my previous posts, right? My case is that her positions do not actually change, she is hijacking Bernie's message and presenting it as her own. By and large, the voters know she is a liar, but they keep eating up her constant flow of BS. For some reason, the two ideas of "She's a liar." and "She is lying" do not connect.

Uh-hunh, but Hillary still needs to win a first term before all theses other presumptuous fantasies can become realities, correct?

The feeling about the TPP is not cut and dried. Obama may be for it but many are against it. I think of her as waffling. Being for it and against it then going with the prevailing wind.
